    Arrow Mediacar V1.8.3

    Software section here :
    http://www.media-car.fr.st
(Web site only in French for the moment but the images are universal and the translator of google is a good friend )

    V1.8.3
    News :

    - Changed the path verification process in the Setup, Ok button is always enabled and if there is a bad path Mediacar give you a message box with the error.
    Bugs corrected :
    - Launching method for external APP's, DVD and external GPS is corrected for Windows XP

    V1.8.2
    News :

    - Direct button for gamma and for "Appearance" menu.
    - "Eject" button added in Audio player, in video player soon.
    - New button in Audio browser to load playlists with one recursive level ("Select+" button).
    - Automatically detect CD and plays it (only If audio player is launched), also in video player soon.
    - Detect ejected CD automatically and returns to the previous HD playlist, also in video player soon
    - Method for external application, DVD, and GPS completely modified, support now the good "Start into folder" and have best capability to embed, ...
    Bugs corrected :
    - Time and date placement corrected in the audio player skin.

    V1.8.1 (I don't want to arrive at the 2.0 now )
    News :

    - Support for skin change "on the fly" with a menu and a preview of the skin, use the "ying/yang" button on the main menu
    - Option to launch automatically a module or the last module used or nothing when Medacar startup .
    - Minimal controls for audio player added to the GPS module.
    - Time and Date support added to the skin for all modules.
    - Improved the "run embedded" capability for external GPS and DVD software with the possibility to manually define the search string to correctly catch the handle of the main window of the external application (Optional) .
    - Added possibility to define the file name pattern for cover image to keep maximum compatibility with your personal folder and files structures.
    - additional code to use the default skin for a module if its files miss in the current skin. That gives more time to Skinners to modify their skins when I add new menus or modules
    Bugs corrected :
    - Winamp visualisation window handle problem discovered and is corrected.
    - Some other small potential bugs corected.

    V1.8:
    News :

    - The gamma correction use now API and not DIRECTX then all problems betwee video, external software, ... and DIRECTX are solved, You can now apply the gamlm correction to each module and also when playing XVID or Winamp visualisation
    Bugs corrected :
    - "Runtime error 13" at startup corrected
    - "When I click on the album the directory, and enter directory, to browse the MP3s the artwork is no longer displayed. My MP3 are organized artist/album/songs ..." corrected

    V1.7:
    News :

    - Winamp playlists are now supported, a new module to manage(create, modify, delete, ...) the playlist is also in development.
    - There is new options to chose to run the winamp visualisation embedded or not and to specify the name of the visualisation window to found (Before, mediacar always try to find a window with a name like "*AVS*"). Now you can use the visualisation that you want, simply specify the good name, generic caractère "*" are suported.
    - Option added to Hide the mouse when Mediacar start.

    V1.6:
    News :

    - All your parameters are now restaured when you instal a new version
    - It's now Winamp 2.91 in the package with ogg plugin, but the AVS plugin is the V2.5 from the previous Winamp version because the AVS V2.6 give problem to be run emmbeded in another software.
    - Some parameters not used are removed from all the skin definition file.

    Bugs corrected :
    - "When resuming windows after hibrenation I get a:run-time error '-2005532222 (887601c2)' automation error" Corrected
    - The incompatibility between gamma gestion and Xvid Codec when the color deep is set to 32 Bits is corrected, to do this I need to always unload the video file when I apply gamma correction and reload it after gamma correction is disabled then the time to comeback to the videoplayer from the mixer or video browser will be a little bigger but it's actually the only solution that I have found.

    V1.5:
    Big News :

    - Day/Night mode added !
You can now define a day and night Gamma color correction for each Skin and switch between the two in manual and in automatic with a timer. (See the "Appearance" tab)
    - The Audio Browser supports now an image and a text description of the playlist folder or single file, It work like the Video browser.

    Bugs corrected :
    - "I have two subfolders in the video folder that I would like to browse, which at the moment is only possible if there is a video file in the top level folder. I think you search for video files in the folder on opening, can it be changed to include subfolders?" Corrected

    V1.4:
    News :

    - option to always mute the line-in on exit or not
    - GPS menu is comming up only on click onto the top status bar

    Bugs corrected :

    - "One problem is still there. When I start external GPS software e.g. Roadscout a new screen appears in the front but the programm screen is in the back even I unchecked the embedded option."
Corrected for external GPS software and external DVD software.
-"When the nav is in off postion the cordinates change and the green light is blinking. When i change it to another mode is see 1 red blink and the cordinates update stops and there is no lock on the position."
corrected, The NMEA stream will be correctly processed for all GPS receivers now.
-"When i press track in gps it freezes the screen im in.
It seems to work if i dont touch anything, but obviously i cant see my position."
Maybe corrected with the update of the NMEA stream process.

    V1.2:
    News :

    - Gps mode, zoom and font size are now stored and resumed on start.
    - Video and audio are resumed at the last positions.
    - Audio player playing on start.

I've still got tha windows XP problem with sub folders not being selected correctly. Also now every time I click MP3 I get "run-time error '13' type mismatch" ok box. Is that cause the MP3 player is still trying to load that emputy folder?

I find that if I go back into the mediacar setup and change nothing. the MP3 player works again. Sounds to me as if that tells the mp3 player to look at my top level folder again.

BTW the folder problem only happens when I exit the mp3 player after choosing an emputy folder.

Absolutely same here. But I don't have an empty folder.
I installed 1.8.3 on my car PC with the hope everything will run smooth finally and no luck again. Thats why I'm thinking of this.

Let's give Coyote a break from all new features requests and help him make a stable running software before the things gets worst and more complicated.

Ok, I was just wondering what you guys were doing wrong when...it happened on mine!! run-time error '13' type mismatch blah blah blah

Coyote, it seems to stem from the "CurrentPlaylistRecursive=" line under [GeneralAudio] in the Enviroment.ini file. Whatever variable should go on the end (1 or 0, true or false, I think) is not being written to the file.

    Edit:
By the way, this is after you have choosen Select+ and then exited from MediaCar....I take it, that it should either be true or false, seeing as you stick false on the end after setup?

Coyote the new method you developed to run the GPS soft embedded works like a charm with even Alturion! It's a bliss to see how it all gets integrated piece by piece.
Also great going with the dedicated contrast button! I'm glad to see that basic funtions still remain in one click's reach!

When I look at the To-Do list it just shows me some of the things I'm thinking would make this car software complete

If you're interested I would love to support you by offering you a possibility to use the domain carpc.be that I registered. Please drop me a message if you find it usefull. After all I'm proud that It could represent such a wonderfull Belgian project. Currently it holds a site redirect that a friend of mine used to host, but he stopped using it and sold it all.

Thanks again for the great work, would be glad to help you out if I can!

Thanks you for your offer for domain but a new website with a new domain name is already projected.
