GPS location ?

Just installed mappoint europe 2002 on my laptop just to check it out. In mediacar i cant find the option to create routes. How do i do?
Looking in the skins i can see the gps_location* , but how do i launch that? Cant find any shortcut or button to call it... And none of the other .skin files have any link as far as i can tell.
Could someone point me in the right direction??
