Ok, silly question...exiting mediacar

I am sure that I am overlooking something, but when i set up my exit button to Hibernate, works great, but now i seem to be locked into mediacar, and cannot get back to desktop at all. Ok, I can, but it involves doing bad things to make it crash, and then i am ok

Anyway, I also am curious if the unused buttons can be deleted in the skins? Like for example I dont have GPS yet, if I just delete the button, is that enough, or will it cause problems because it is expected to be there?

Great job Coyote, even for a rookie like me, it has been very easy to use, and much more user friendly than others I have sampled. Keep up the good work

And if you need a tester for the radio, lemme know! I am excited to get that function working.

If you need to get back to getting the Exit button to give you the exit menu, go into MediaCar setup, and change it back to Ask

There is just the 1 button which gives you shutdown/exit, if you hard code it, then it will always do that. I just use the menu for ease of use, it's only a couple more seconds to hit Power Off once i've pulled up the menu

As for removing un-wanted buttons, go into the C:\Program Files\MediaCar\SKINS folder, and in the folder for the skin you are using, find the .skin files, you will probably want "Menu.skin", and open it in Notepad.

When it's open, put a / in front of any lines for buttons you don't want. They should then not be shown until you go back and remove the / from the line

I am doing that with the Radio and DVD buttons on mine

Ok, I understand and can appreciate the info, but if you cant get out of mediacar, how do you change the setup

that is where I am coming from. I need to get back to a desktop once in a while, and I was thinking maybe there was a secret way. Thanks for the help, I will try the button delete thing next.-Jeff

Well...I don't have the exit button going direct to shutdown/hibernate, i have it going to the menu, so i don't have that problem

The button delete thing is pretty easy with V1.8.5+

I am not sure about any one case but here is what I found.
My screen size is 640x480.
If I have Media car running at full screen 640x480, I can't get the task bar to moving up the screen(from auto-hide) by all mean (Hit the "start" key on the keyboard). I just have to kill media car to get back to desktop.
If I have media car running a little smaller than full screen (640x475) or something, then everything is find. I can just pull the mouse pointer down to get the taskbar pop up (from auto-hide). So media car just behave like other ordinary applications.
