    Dual Head with MediaCar

A rundown of my setup, Epia M10000, two VGA screens (one 7" touch (800x600) and one 5" visor (640x480)) With my M10000 I have a Matrox Graphics Millennium in the PCI slot do that I can have dual monitors. It all works great under Windows XP.

I would like to run MediaCar mainly on the 7" touch and when I select (DIVX), it would play the movie on the 5" visor only.

    My thoughts of possible solutions:
    a) would be write a small application C++ that would use the APIs in Media Player to display in fullscreen the movie starting at position (801x1). Which in theory would be the beginning of the second monitor and the OS would know that and display full on it. I have manually started Media Player on the second monitor and gone into full (alt enter) and it works fine.

    b) I created a shortcut on my desktop with "/fullscreen" in the command line. If I drag and drop a avi onto it, mplayer will start in the location it was last. I dont like this solution, because it could easily fail.

    c) anything else?

I know that with my nVidia graphics card at least, I can tell it which display I want video/overlay stuff to be run on...and it will show fullscreen on the 2nd monitor whatever video is playing on the main monitor. I find that VERY useful at home, it means I can set up any video player running a video (WinDVD, WMP, Winamp 5), minimise it, and my gf can watch it on the TV (or 2nd monitor) while I sit down and do some neffing on Anandtech forums!

Take a look and see if your Matrox card has an option for that

I will take a look into it, but my guess is that it doesn't. This matrox video card has a (c) date of '96 It has a load of memory (2mb ) ok ok I ripped it out of a old PPro server. Not like I am running games in my car, just playing movies.

I looked on Matrox website and that lastest supported version is 95-98/nt
