    problems

Hi I now had my carstereo setup for about a week. I noticed something that are a little bit strange. I don't know if it's mediacar or something else.
    My setup:
    Epia M1000
    Lilliput w. touch
    seagate 120GB
    BU-303 GPS

    1. When I get the gps signal back after driving through a tunnel I get an errormessage. I click ok and it's normal again. (I'm using mappoint)

    2. Everywhere I have parked my car and turned it of (the carputer too), I can see the red positionsymbol on the map. I don't know if this is a bug or a setting. But the map will be full of red circles around my house!!

    3. Sometimes the graphics ****s up. I don't know why or when. It just happens. The worst is that I can't get rid of it. I have to restart the computer (sometimes that doesn't work either). The first signal is that the top of Mappoint dissapears and I can see the blue mediacar top.

I think it has something to do with the GPS, (but I'm not sure) I use the BU-303 GPS unit http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=4668.

I'm going to buy FM-radio for the carputer soon too. I want it to fit MediaCar and confuseds radio app. It has to be USB. what unit should I buy?

For my Radio app, you will want the D-Link DRU-100 (available on Ebay), or possibly the new http://www.radio-extreme.com, which also works with Radiator (which is the program my radio application works with)

I'm not too sure on your GPS problems, however, as I don't use MapPoint myself.

I havn't tried it out yet but i am getting ready to put everying in my car. I know have everying except the GPS either ordered or in my grubby little hands(well there not so little) anyways i will post a review of the Radio Unit when i recieve it.

I use Mappoint as well, and the only red dot I ever see is my current position. I am using a NavMan GPS. and mediacar

I have the same setup with the same GPS (my hard drive is WD though) and I don't have any problems with mappoint.

    That's strange
    I deleted map.ptm
and all of the old red dots dissapered, but new ones are still coming.

Do you use 5.1? Have you solved the problem with mediacar just controlling the frontspeakers?

Try opening up MapPoint on it's own, and see if it's got anything about tracking position.

Those seem like they are for keeping track of a vehicle (as MapPoint it "targeted" as something to use to see where delivery drivers are etc)

I do use 5.1 and I have NOT solved the audio control problem. I did, however, just finish writing an email to VIA and asked if they are gonna address it in their next audio driver release; master control should be an easy addition. Via has always been good at answering my questions in a day or two.

    Ok I really need help.
I have tried everything (that I can think of)
But everytime I exit mediacar it saves the red positionsymbol. And when I open it again a new one creates. If I delete the map.ptm and start it up again the red dots are gone, but they come back fast. If I make the map.ptm writeprotected that will do it, but then I get a error message everytime I close the program.

    I got Mappoint 2004 and Mediacar 1.8.5.2
    help me please!
Am I the onlyone with this problem?

There is a setting in MapPoint which puts a "pushpin" where you are. There must be a setting somewhere. I'm pretty sure it's not a MediaCar problem, but a MapPoint problem.

I would test my theory, but I don't have/use MapPoint!
