When you unmute the line and mute the wave or winamp volume you lose the advantage of the winamp linein plugin that Mediacar uses because the radio sound that you hear don't pass through winamp. The Winamp equaliser does not have effect on the line in without using this plugin.

im just saying that is the only way to get it to work. no mater what i do it dosent do it on its own

You say that you get an echo when you unmute the line-in and let the wave unmuted then I deduces from it that the radio is passing well into winamp because without it you should not have echo.

Are you sure that you unmute only the volume of the line-in and let the recording source line-in really unmuted ?
You should see two line-in slider in the original mixer of your sound card, one in the volume device and the other in the recording device, unmute the one who is in the recording device and mute the one who is in the volume device.

thanks for the help. i have come to the conclusion that it will not work with the sound blaster audigy. it works on my desktop witch uses the sound blaster live

Hi There, im new here and have plans for a carputer, this is my car setup currently and i have an 12"touchscreen which comes in the back with polyester.



First of all i like to thank coyote for his great piece of work, i have one question, why can't i replace the songs in the queue like normal with winamp. I want to move a song up or down in the queue but that doesn't seem to work?

first of all, wauuv what a neat program this Mediacar, used to use mediaengine but that do not come close to your program....

but i have 2 problems.

1. i have not sound what so ever using the radio (dlink), it works fine in the mediaengine, but as i dont want to revert to this i hope that you can help me in getting the MC to play radio...

2. in my setup the EQ do not have any influence at all when i adjust the EQ settings,

otherwise - it is really a pro looking program special with the new brushed steel skin.......

1. Make sure you have set in your Windows control panel sound settings to use Line In as your recording device. This should then allow the radio to work in MediaCar.

2. Make sure you un-mute the "Winamp Pre-amp volume" (double-click on it so that the text underneath it is no longer red) If this is muted, then the equaliser won't make any difference

your were a lifesaver confused, it works like a charm now....

so now it is a fully working system , only with the known "bug" regards to the muting of the radio when going to MP3....

what did one do without the web in the past.
