Best Technique In Life Is Having No Technique
ONE DAY I WILL LEARN HOW TO USE THE COMPUTER THE RIGHT WAY.
Count me in as well. I develop and install software all day long. I'm the primary tester for our product, so I have a bit of experience in this area. I have to test other people's code when they don't.
I'm currently evaluating MediaCar on my laptop to determine whether or not I'm going to put it in my CarPC. It's much easier to use than Media Engine, so I'm pretty sure I am. Since I have it running all day long, I'm having no trouble finding issues.
On top of that, I know what information you need to fix the problem.I noticed sometimes the error messages don't have line #'s- why is that?
I'd be more than willing to test whatever. I could help fix bugs as well as reporting them if you wanted to make parts of the source available.
I also have a suggestion:
Our software writes to a log file each time there is an error, then asks the user what to do about it. You could do the same thing, then just ask testers to send you their log file if you needed information. The log file could have all sorts of information about the current state of the program.
I thought we already were the beta testers
I also have a range of PC's to test it on.
