Mediacar and Mappoint

hi, i have both mediacar and mappoint installed on my computer and i upgraded from a 40gb hdd to 80gb hdd (i just copied everything that was on the old one to the new one) and now mediacar says that mappoint is not installed when i click on the gps button. it was working fine before i switched the hard drives. also i can run mappoint outside of mediacar and it works fine. does anyone know what can be the problem or is there a setting i have to change.

You should provide more details on how your harddisks are partitioned and where mappoint and media car are installed. Have you checked to make sure the path to mappoint.exe in the media car settings is correct?

everything is on one drive (c), both mediacar and mappoint are in the default directories in program files. what file has the settings for the mappoint path?

If you don't have reinstalled Mappoint then the Mappoint OCX componant is not installed or not correctly registered !

A simple copy is not a good idea to restore a system onto a new HD!

It would be okay if you did a bit for bit copy from one hard disk to another if both disks have the same geometry. I'm not sure how that could be achieved under windows but under linux/unix you have access to the disks through /dev. But for 98% of the time your right.
