Need Help with MapPoint and MediaCar

I'm using MapPoint 2002 with the MediaCar (downloaded April 15, '04) on W2K.

My problem is that MediaCar doesn't seem to recognize the GPS receiver. MediaCar will show the MapPoint maps, and it will allow me to plan routes, but the indicator showing my location as provided by the GPS receiver never shows up.

When I use MapPoint separately it works fine, but when I run MediaCar with MapPoint embedded I never see an indicator for my location. I don't see anyway to test the receiver from within MediaCar.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you checked in the MediaCar setup under the GPS section that the correct COM port is selected?

I had not checked to make sure it was set to the correct com port. I just assumed if the com port was set correctly in mappoint that it would be fine in MediaCar.
