Speaking of title changes, can only the MOD's do that? I select Title and change it, but it only affects the subtitle, not the main title

As an update I've got the microcontroller code written for fan control, I've got the VB code for it done. Seems pretty bulletproof so far. I'm using LED's as my test mechanism. Hopefully have the the relays wired before the weekend as I have plans that don't involve this project

    If anyone is interested

You will need an AVI viewer that understands divx (I use mediaplayer)

www.divx.com or look around for xvid as well

    Houston, WE HAVE LIFTOFF!

Fan portion of the HVAC is fully functional and working.

I used Windows Media this time to avoid "problems"

Just wanted to update my progress.

As you think about piloting the motor of the fan in output
With a Mosfet or transistor of power?
Remembered that the motor of the fan absorbs some amperes, and and' different that to make to turn on some leds.

Uses to try a form Basic Stamp?

With which uP you think about using at the end?

I now see the new tape that you have done, hold me informed on the developments

    Hi

Any luck on the project? I'm halfway waiting for your results on the idea before i try to repair my broken climate control unit, or buy a salvaged one...

I'm using a transistor to hold enough power to switch the relay.
I'm using a BasicX BX24 Stamp typle chip for all of this.

Russ I'm awaiting more parts, as it stands now the fans are 100% functional.
Next step is the temperature slider. That part is proving to be a little more difficult. However nothing is impossible. Just a matter of how much time+money you want to spend
Don't wait for me, just do it, you'll love it.... and hate it.. but it's fun!

On a side note I was looking at some other vehicles saturns and such and they look to be very similar in design to my vehicle(minus the dual temperature)

So there may be some luck for other people besides myself

As of now i feel lost on how to begin such a project. But thats how i felt when i began the whole carputer thing and now im fairly comfortable. So i should give it a shot... Im just missing two key concepts: 1) How do you know what wire has what signals going through it? 2) What basic hardware is required to interface with something like c++?

Also, are you putting the functions of that front control pcb in the computer? Or the whole climate control unit?

Why not make your findings open source, or GPL. Just document your findings, how you found them, source to the software, plans to the circurity, etc. I know this sounds like a lot, but look at how many peoples dreams you would fufill. Just a thought.
