Well i know that at least there is headunit for linux http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/other-cool-front-ends/28885-headunit-linux-windows-carpc-frontend-initial-screenshots.html#post227586 ported to windows too
isn't that MediaCar like system ?

For the X server you have all the needed script in the link i gave you but anyway if you don't like to deal with it tell me what hardware you have as display card i will try to give you a frame to play with according to your screens.

Well, that was kinda why I made the images. If you look at the pic there is a dual head graphics card, so thats the easy part!
But what I want is the app (be that whatever media package) to run the front-end (navigation, buttons, volume ctrl etc etc) on one output. THEN run for example movies on the other output which is the split in two with Y-cable to enable one LCD in each neck-rest. So the HW is already there...

But can / will for MediaCar (or any other car package) be able to play movies on a secondary display (its the same desktop cause Nvidia utilzes horizontal spanning) so it actually just on a part of the desktop. Please see my example further up this thread.

    But thanks for joining in.

    Regards

    Peter

SimpleDVD has an option to display the video on a particular screen. You could just use the dual head car and when SimpleDVD starts it would display the dvd on the headrest screens.
