    authoring playlists

is this even possible with the current mediacar
just want to make sure im not overlooking something

i want to create my own playlists while in the car so i have a constant selection of music playing without me having to fumble with the touchscreen to select new music

there is an add music button with a plus that i would assume to be an append function to create playlists but when pressed it doesnt append

i really wish coyote wouldve at least handed over the source so someone else could pick up where he left off :-\

I was getting too many errors with MediaCar, so I switched to Media Engine. It has playlist functions and search functions, and you can "browse all music" to have a master playlist of everything. I'd like to try FrodoPlayer, it's got some skins I like (woodgrain would be dope), but I've been getting used to MediaEngine, and I haven't gotten around to installing all the required software for FrodoPlayer.

Hey Frodo, out of curiosity, why don't you embed all that required software into the installer?

Select+ adds the current directory and one 1 level of sub-directories. Unfortunately any time you add in MediaCar, it removes the entire existing playlist

It really is a shame coyote has let this project "die", it was a good project. It's death is partly the reason why we're coding AIMEE, as there are features we want which other applications don't have.

Also, for the foreseeable future, I doubt I'll be spending too long away from this forum It's like a second home!

It's too bad Coyote couldn't have given you access to his source. You did some great work arounds for MediaCar-I'm still using your version of Destinator so I can change songs. AIMEE is looking good-the Destinator/GPS looks great in the preview-implementing music control, volume and song title on the GPS screen. I've been following the Destinator 3 SDK thread and I'm hoping that there will be a break through soon so you can put something together with it. Looks like it's real close.
