Good point, although this could affect the tach's performance!

If thats what you wanted to do then yeah sure you could do that you coul also mount a potentiometer on the electric window guides and wire that to one of the ADC to show exact position too
or u just have one of the inputs showing that the window has been put down

YOu can control an output from the PC or from an input... And you can see if input is ON or OFF...

Seriously Doubt that would work dude
    more than one reason
300 degrees tend to indicate on of two things to me
1: that it will not turn further than 300 degress i.e locked
2: that is just simply a pot

and im also betting thats theres no way on earth that little thing could keep up with a tacho the shear turning rpm would tear it apart,
plus remeber that tacho on modern cars is taken as a pulse from the low tension side of a coil (transformer), howvere this doesnt mean you cant measure tachometer, im pretty sure rickys card above has a great sample rate at which data is polled you could easily get tacho rpm with that.

right, my idea was not to mount them on the axle, but in the dash. On the gauges, where 300 degrees would be plenty

    Great News guys,

I have just been on the phone with Dan from phidgets.com. (cool dude)
and I told him about this little project, he is going to look into which is the best phidget to use and send me an email with some wiring.

    can't wait.
I think once the wiring is done (diagram) the application can follow.

He told me that the 0/0/4 is so far the best option because it can draw more current. (10Amps) compare with the 0/16/16 wich is a 2 Amps only (you'll fry the board...)

there is also a last option, but it's not out yet:
    http://www.phidgets.com/modules.php?...rtid=91&page=1

The PhidgetMotorControl can control up to 4 DC motors, forward/reverse, stop/start and speed. The PhidgetMotorControl is limited to 2Amps at 12VDC
    but this is only 2Amps....
