    Embedding a backup application

    Hi guys,
I'm getting on with my CarPC project and I'm now looking at the backup side of things.
I would like to have a simple front end screen that runs xcopy in the background.

I'm fitting the CarPC into my wifes car and the plan is for the wife to place an mp3 list into a PC in the house and then be able to fire up mediacar select a sync option and be told when the new album(s) have transfered.

xcopy seems to fit the bill but is very "raw".
There is the \mediacar\launch option to expose xcopy but I dont particularly want a command prompt to appear. Even a normal application will expose the application front end and all it's complications.
I'd rather had a front end that gives a prompt to indicate completion and perhaps a start button.

I'm not a 'skinner' but if that is what it taked then I could give it a go.

Anyone got any lifesaving ideas before I get too bogged down?

    TIA
    Kevin

    Look at autoit scripting (http://www.hiddensoft.com).
I could do what you're asking very easily.

    Hmmm..... Just downloaded it.

Just had a 5 minute scan over the help file and it looks like I can knock up something around the 'runwait' command
What is it like on it's error handling routines?

As I'll be sync'ing over a wireless connection outside the house a good set of graceful close routines may be in order

    Nice find - thanks
