Microsoft Streets & Trips 2009 out in October, but MS AutoRoute R.I.P.

Microsoft Streets and Trips 2009 will come to a store near you in October. It will include voice direction prompts that will pronounce street names. User interface will be slightly improved, plus a few more enhancements and fixes.

Unfortunately the European MS AutoRoute is no more

wow.. looks exactly the same as 2005 lol. But truth be told they did add ANOTHER compass

I wonder if it gets upset and takes you off the freeway.......just to put you back on like 2005.

At the first glance the picture above may look just like all the previous versions. But upon closer examination you may notice the size of buttons doubled (more friendly for in-car navigation). S&T Team, at their blog, posted a nice comparison screenshot of the toolbar S&T 09 vs. S&T 08. Here's the link:

Microsoft Streets & Trips 2009 is not in stores yet, but Microsoft MapPoint 2009 is now out! S&T is a subset of MP features, so looking at MP 2009 is just like looking at S&T 2009. Here's a brief Review: MapPoint 2009 (or call it just "first impressions")
