You don't need to select it in *both* places. If you've selected advanced GPS and put the com port in there then that's enough.Originally Posted by buckle
I just installed Map Monkey official, and everything looks great...
...but
I configure my GPS to Com5 in Advanced GPS settings (which is where my
gm-210 is confirmed to be located), but in the GPS status page,
it shows Com3.
Com3 is the only item in the Drop-down for Port, so I can't change it there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Ok, I selected it in Advanced GPS settings...Map Monkey can't find it. GPS status page still shows only Com3.
So I decided to change the port for the usb GPS to com3 in device manager.
Change Advanced GPS settings to com3 etc. -> MM still can't see it.
the GPS Status app that came with the GM-210 scans all ports to find the GPS and
successfully finds it on Com3. (It takes two scans to find it.)
It may or may not be relevent, but, I seem to have fried my serial port recently so
I had to move my serial touchpad over to the ps/2 mouse port.(using mfg. supplied adapter)
Anyway, Still not working...Thoughts?
If you are using Avanced mode IGNORE gps status! With advanced mode Map Monkey takes control of the GPS and the D3 SDK won't be connecting (and so GPS status will be wrong)
I'm guessing the reason it's not working is due to the wrong protocol or baud rate selected. Get SiRFDemo or some other GPS diagnostic app and see if that can connect (or even hyperterminal)
Destinator 3 For PC! - http://www.map-monkey.co.uk/
The Receiver came with it's own diag. app and it finds it. I used the same settings (NMEA, 4800) that the diag app used.
I will try another diagnostic app to see if there are any problems with it.
When i am running Destinator it finds my gps, but when i want to "set" gps it say "com port busy" - any idea?
Can u tell me the windows name for mapmonkey?

Yes, if you have advanced option turned on, then ignore the Destinator gps settings.Originally Posted by Aircargoservice
