Well I was about to buy the sdk and the maps when I found out that people who had paid were having all this hassle. It practically forces you to use the other method.

As you guys have said. what is the poiing of releasing the SDK when it won't work with real maps. Surely there must be some info they are holding back. It's pretty crap that people wasted $50 to get a useless .dll that was only valid for a couple of months.

Also, I'm not 100% sure. (second hand info only) that the PN version (could have even been the demo) here in OZ is being shipped with MM on the disk. I am not sure if Ninja Monkey has given permission for this, but I thought it was interesting. Does anyone have any more info on this?

    Talking Final Word From Destinator!

I asked for a refund as one of the sales people knew of map monkey and advised I would need sdk...

    Hello Andy,
The only person in our organization that deals with the SDK is myself. I do not advise using the SDK with map monkey. This information is posted on forums by other as stated in your pervious emails. If a developer has created an application and you would like to use that application you would need to purchase the Destinator software and maps program that allows full size Destinator maps to be used. The SDK is a tool to develop applications either by integrating the software into an existing program or creating a new add on application. This is what the SDK is to be used for as stated on our SDK website:

    Thanks

(I think mine is now working)

All they had to do was offer the DLL that would work with MM and FreeDrive for a reasonable price and I'm pretty sure they'd have quite a few sales with people buying that and the Maps.

Now they're just forcing people to get it the other way. Their loss

    Ninja Monkey:

I think you are missing the point here.
The sdk has to be bought by whoever wants to create an application that uses destinator. In this case, you.

Who ever creates an application is allowed and should include the needed (DLL) files so we can use it with the official maps of destinator.
Destinator support also states that (between the lines).

With other words, as i understand it you are allowed to include the needed dll files so we are able to use mapmonkey with the official (bought version of destinator 3)

    eh, no.

if you read a few more of the threads in this forum, you will find that Ninja had a long conversation with PowerLoc and basically he would have needed a contract to be set up with them to allow him to distribute the 'working' DLL from the SDK, and this would have needed him to pay them for every copy he distributed. In the end they could or would not come to an agreement over this. It would also have meant MapMonkey would not have been free.

And when I say 'working' DLL, I mean the DLL thay supplied which was designed to time bomb out last august.
