Soon folks, Soon...
I've played with roadrunner, media engine, and mobile impact.
MI is the only one worth keeping in my opinion. Thanks a lot.
The only thing I'd request with the new release is to let audio continue while browsing through menus, and audio from video play back to continue as well.
Does the new MI also allow the use of shortkeys?
In fact there's a point, I've seen the shortcut keys on the helpfile but are there any keys that would allow you to navigate the menus as I was hoping to try and integrate my steering controls into MI.
I think you'd need up, down, select, back and a tab type function then you could get around everything so long as the buttons became highlighted when you hit tab.
Pause/Play = enter
Fast Forward = plus key
Rewind = minus key
Mute/Unmute = * key
Next Track = right arrow/6 key
Previous Track = left arrow/4 key
Vol Up = + key
Vol Down = - key
To make all of these commands work in all the different modules, I will have to add a bit more code, so the program can identify which module is in use.
Switch to Main Menu = 0 key
Switch to Media Player = 1 key
Switch to GPS = 2 key
Switch to XM = 3 key
Switch to DVD/CD = 5 key
Switch to Games = 7 key
Switch to Apps = 8 key
Switch to Web browser = 9 key
I am keeping all of these commands on the number keys so that those of us who just want to get one of those cheep external number keypads can operate the program easily. The keyboard commands will only work in a single screen environment as setting this up for the dual screen mode would be a coding nightmare.
By the way here is another teaser screenshot of one of the new skins that Ive been working on
Ugh... that last screenshot.... new underware please....
two words red, "FEATURE FREEZE!"
Would there be any way to put additional commands in that arent on the number pad for menu navigation so that you can connect something like an IPAC and use the buttons to move up and down the album list and select tracks, a key for the go back button and key for the select button.
Ideally a tab button that would highlight an option on screen but not select it, then every time you press it it moves to the next on screen button until you press select to chose the option. This would only require two buttons for this and the three track navigation and select buttons then the driver could navigate the whole program and play any tracks without his/her hands leaving the steeringwheel using just 5 keys.
