Ideally a tab button that would highlight an option on screen but not select it, then every time you press it it moves to the next on screen button until you press select to chose the option. This would only require two buttons for this and the three track navigation and select buttons then the driver could navigate the whole program and play any tracks without his/her hands leaving the steeringwheel using just 5 keys.

The program actually doesnt work that way, if you tab between the control, hitting enter doesnt do anything, all of the code is on the Mouse Click/Down/and Up commands. The media player appears to work that way, but it actually doesnt. On the media player file list control, it only has code for list_click and listitem_click. I think I have visited this before with disasterous results, but I will revisit this and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nice I saw that you will debug keyboard commands!!! I asked you about it some month ago (the member from Carmedia.org)
I am in a hurry to test this new version. Mobile impact is the best front-end I have tested and these shortcuts where the only thing that disabled me to use Mobile Impact instead of Neocar Media Center.
when this version is planned to be released?

Im still doing some testing and having some minor issues, so I will try to release it by the end of this month.

I have fixed the bugs that I encountered on my trip and several that I found in testing.

I reconfigured the menus so that the main menu is only a single menu instead of a submenu when you hit the media button. Here is a teaser screenshot of the main menu. The next release will also have a new skin called simplistique that I copied from another skin I found on mp3car.com.

I have also added a volume control slider at the top where the song title and volume number shows, It will show the song info and volume number normally but to activate it, you tap on it and the song info and volume number dissappears and the slider shows, after 10 seconds of innactivity it returns to normal showing the song info again or when the user hits any of the volume or module menus.

I have totally redone the DVD/CD player module so that it has playlist, title menu, and several other robust functions. I have also added a cd drive eject button to the dvd/cd module, that is accessed through the playlist screen on the new module.

I fixed the volume control on the XM module so that it is more reponsive and functions without affecting the other volumes.

I updated the SNES9xw to the most current windows version for the emulator.

I fixed the shuffle function on the media player. The new shuffle works on both the playlist and normal play functions. The new shuffle creates a hidden list of numbers that coincide with the songs, then scrambles the numbers then goes down the list and plays them. No duplicates are encountered and it is very random every time but only works when playing normally. If the user hits the next or previous buttons it uses the original shuffle code, which actually tends to be more random anyway.

I have written an iPod controlling module and will attempt to add it to the media player module.

I will be looking for a good equalizer active x control to add as well. I have search quite in depth and havent found anything yet.

Oh.... Heh heh. By the way I also created an iGuidance 3.0 Mod that gives it the same buttons as the skin. Here is a teaser;
