    Switch from iGuidance to Music on Song Change

    I thought that you had fixed it but I just got my new GPS in and now everytime the song changes then it flips from the GPS module to the song list. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Is this a new GPS software? or is this a new GPS receiver?

    The only thing I can think of is somehow the program got reverted to an old version somehow. Open C:\Program Files\Mobile Impact and check the date on Mi.exe; the most current file date should be 9/20/2005. If it is not this date, then I would suggest redownloading the installation and then reinstall.

    Ill take a look. Also something that I noticed is that the visualizations when switched to full screen sometimes have a tendency to revert back to the small size and are not in the frame. They are instead located in the top left corner. If you click it again then it will go back to full screen. Any idea why this is happening??

    Thanks

    Ive never experienced this in development or otherwise. It almost sounds like you have a display setting issue, If you have you DPI set to anything but the default 96 dpi it will cause a whole array of problems. Large fonts or icons wont affect anything. If you are not viewing windows with the default windows xp theme, it might cause problems with the GPS program positioning correctly. unfortunately display settings can cause a wide variety of problems. Can you give me as much info on your display settings as possible? Then I can look it over and give some suggestions. Thanks.

    They are default

    I have not changed the dpi, the theme is XP default, 800x600 res. and a clean install of MI. Most of the time the visualizations work but 1 out of ten times it reverts back to a small box in the top left hand corner and has to be clicked again. Its weird I know. While you are thinking about this one would it also be possible to set up the INI file so that certain features were disabled and if they were that it would cause the button not to do anything and would load a default image like this one:

    Just a thought. I love your frontend!! I just dont use XM or Games and would like my passangers to quit hitting the buttons and asking why I have not set them up. Anything you could do would be a benefit. When will the next release be I am looking forward to the additions you have made to iGuidance.

    Thanks

    Jbyers ->
    Thanks for the input and the compliments. I am working like crazy to complete the next release. I am very near completing the iGuidance GPS. I have placed a goal to be complete by the end of this month which gives me a couple of weeks to go. The new DVD module is incredibly stable and simple. It has the ability to run on Windows extended desktop, where you hit a button while playing a Movie and it moves it to the extended/2nd screen. I will probably also set it up to view separate screens on other modules as well. As an example of its function; the driver would be able to view the GPS and the 2nd/back monitor will show the movie or audio module/visualization. Im not really that sure how I will do this, but it will definitely be run on the windows extended desktop. So far the iGuidance/GPS module is working very well too.

    I have toyed around with enabling and disabling things. I have also created a really nice skin builder for my other game emulator front end, so I will eventually code a skin builder for Mobile Impact im sure, this might take a long while however, but it would give the user the ability to alter the skins and buttons infinitely. There are so many other things that I want to add, and I have also been approached by several vendors to create custom packages for as well as improve their websites. I am an incredibly busy puppy!

    When this problem occurs with the visualization, can you tell me what is the procedure that you are taking to cause this to happen? Like what module are you in, and what did you press, etc. I would like to try to recreate this. Thank you.

    What I do...

    Right now I have the display setting set to 2 so that it alternates between visualization and album art. I bring up the media option and the audio option then I select a song. Then after it cycles through the album art to the visualization I click the screen to bring up the visualization in full screen. This works for about 5 seconds then it goes to the small screen size again in the top left corner. If I click it again then it goes back to full screen and usually stays there. Thats it. Very simple and straight forward. Its always done this since I switched to setting 2. Not to add more work but can you modify setting 1 so that it shows album art all the time as it does, but when clicked it goes to visualization at full screen. That way its not alternating but you can still get the visualization if you want it.

    Thanks

    Gotcha, I didnt think about it doing this when at full screen. I will definitely correct this in my next release.
