I designed it to run from the line it for those people who have auxiliary inputs on their head units or in case someone wants to use an external equalizer or something. Thanks for the suggestion though. In case you have not purchased it yet, I would actually recommend against getting one of those VIA powered boards because their video has been known to be somewhat lacking in power. There are dozens of really great ITX boards that are P4 or AMD powered that have much better onboard video, and if its a space issue, then go with a cube case or something. Thanks again for the input and the support.

Yeah, I'm aware of the sacrifice in running the VIA boards, but the MII12000 has plenty of power for running what I need it too, taking into consideration the size requirements it needs to accomidate... with the PCMCIA on top of the board, I can run pretty much everything in about 3 inches... which is a definate need, to keep my cpu out of the way and somewhat hidden, while still being able to cool.

I'm hoping to run a custom case similiar to KMCNiece's...

Thats a sweet case! It looks like you could put any board in that type of case, just use a low profile heatsync and fan for it, or even look into those liquid cooled ones. Your gonna have to post the completed project in the show off your rides thread.

Congrats to the new version (and of course the PhoCo integration) ;)

I just wanted to give it a try but the setup gives me a BSOD.
The attached picture shows what the MI directory looks like after reboot.

I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 (since this is my development machine, it's everything installed one can dream of :D).

... and what do I tell my users always?
Try it on another computer... and I listen.. and I did... and it's working :D

Here's a hint for PhoCo users:
If you edit the configuration file with PhoneCtlConfig (Extended Configuration) and set the WindowToSwitchTo in MainWindow section to Mobile Impact, PhoCo will switch to MI each time you click the Close (X) button without closing itself but staying in the background.

hmmm, I downloaded the latest MI version and still have this XM volume problem. When I go into XM mode the volume starts at 100% everytime (even if I left it lower)
The volume buttons work only visually, but the volume does not change. The only way I can change the volume is through the Windos volume control panel. The mute button does work.
I am using the Audigy 2 USB sound card and have my XM direct sound going into the "aux-in" on the soundcard.
Someone please help....ideas please?

Not sure what you're asking, or how I check it.
I don't have a HU, I use an amp and the Audigy USB sound card.
USB lead goes to the Audigy box, I have "front" and "rear" coming out of that going to the amp. I have my XM Direct box speaker leads going into the "line-in" on the audigy sound card.

I guess one thing I don't understand is why the XM volume (visually) starts at 100% everytime. (Even if I exit the XM mode at 30%)

In my control panel>sound and audio devices> I have all the "mute" boxes un-checked.
