    Question Support for UK iGuidance (PrymeNav)?

    Hi

    I'm trying to get the UK version of iGuidance working (embedded) with MI and it's not working.

    PrymeNav is essentially iGuidance 2.x in every way, apart from the folder it's installed in by default and the application window's title ("PrymeNav").

    Can you help me get this embedded? I've tried moving all PrymeNav files into a folder called C:\Program Files\iGuidance with an exe name of iGuidance.exe. It's a complete guess though!

    Does MI check the window title to get it to embed? If so, can you add an option to config.ini to allow a PrymeNav window title instead?
    If not, how can I "fool" MI into thinking PrymeNav is actually the US version of iGuidance?

    thanks!

    P.S. I love the front end - it look excellent and runs well

    Glad you like it. Actually there is no need to fool it, put it back into its original path then in the config.ini, change these entries.

    Go my website and download the Windows Handle Grabber program, and run it. Drag and Drop the crosshairs icon onto prymnav while you have it open on its own. Take what is in the Class Name: box and put it onto the GPSCLASS=.

    [GPS]
    GPSPATH=C:\Program Files\PrymeNav\prymnav.exe -> whatever the original exe file path is.
    GPSCLASS=

    GPSLEFT=-5
    GPSTOP=
    GPSWIDTH=810
    GPSHEIGHT=

    Adjust the left, top, width, and height settings to make it look just right. Let me know if you need any further help.

    Still not quite there

    It loads up, but I get a warning screen (even before the usual 'Do not drive and use this GPS software' message) stating:

    "Warning Sound files are missing or corrupted. Please reinstall from CD-ROM. OK". Pressing OK then kills the app.

    However, running the app directly from the same folder location works fine!

    Any ideas? I know it's PrymeNav not iGuidance but everything's identical between the two apps. Have you seen this message before? In my opinion it's like having a Windows shortcut where you've specified the file to run but not the "working directory", so it doesn't know where to find some/all it's files.

    Are you setting the working directory within MI ?

    Incidentally, my config.ini settings are now as follows:

    [GPS]
    #Recommended Settings for iGuidance
    #
    #GPSLEFT=-5
    #GPSTOP=-87
    #GPSWIDTH=810
    #GPSHEIGHT=583
    #
    GPSLEFT=-5
    GPSTOP=-87
    GPSWIDTH=810
    GPSHEIGHT=583
    GPSPATH=C:\Program Files\PremierAdvance\PrymeNav Europe\PrymeNav.exe
    GPSCLASS=IntellinavWCls
    #GPSCLASS=ThunderRT6FormDC

    thanks

    Do me a favour and have a look at the properties for your launch icon, what I am wondering is if there are any switches\arguements being used to launch the application.
