Yep, I agree that its crappy to have to pay a monthly fee for XM or Sirius. Sorry that I didnt reply to the post. Yes, I havent had any positive reports that any of the computer connected radios can even get close to the same reception as a standar car unit. In fact the reception on the some of the FM units are so poor that they are a total waste of time and money. I have noticed that it would be extremely nice to be able to listen to the fm radio and the gps voice at the same time, which is not possible without an integrated radio of some sort, even piping the fm radio output into the line in on the computer has been a consideration of mine.

Actually on my commercial version of the software I built a version that the driver can hit a passenger mode button and it brings up a menu and then this menu only opens the modules on the 2nd screen and the primary screen is totally unaffected. So I was contemplating adding this to the public version. Im glad that your giving the software a good real life testing with the 2nd screen setup. If you have any issues or suggestions or challenges with this setup as very few people have tested it to its fullest capacity please let me know. Thanks.

No official release date as of yet. I have had a few heavy priorities change lately so I havent had much time to code. I also have an upcoming show with my commercial stuff, so I have had to put things off. I will get it out really soon though. Keep checking. Thanks.

I'm sorry to come into a big thread late, but can I offer a suggestion for the new release?

If there was a way to be able to scross thru the visualization INSIDE Mobile Impact, instead of closing it and changing it manually in WMP, that would be awesome!

I know NeoMediaCar or whatever it is does this already, theres two little buttons that allow you to scroll thru the visualizations, and that is a really nice feature that I like alot... So if you could add it, that would be great

Other than that, this is by far the best front end out there. And I still stick to that statement

I don't know if this would be difficult or not, but can you make it so that when you're in the Media->Audio section listening to music browsing through the folders, have the GPS portrayed where the visualization usually is? Just a suggestion. I was driving tonight with friends and I had a route going but people still wanted to browse thru the music and I thought it would hav been useful to have the map where the visualization is at at the time..

Ive considered it, but with the new version of iGuidance wont reduce down that small. If you have the gps voice on normal volume, you can still hear the voice prompts. If you get a 2nd video card and then run windows xp extended desktop, then set up a 2nd screen and run it on the 2nd video card then you can use the split screen mode for your passengers. This will allow you to view the gps in the main screen and the audio module will appear in the 2nd screen. Thanks for the suggestion

Any idea on how much longer until you get the new version up and running? I am reloading my carputer and would like to include MI but only if the new version is ready. Thanks for all of your hard work on this and I know you probably have been doing a lot of work on your commercial version slowing the release time for your free version.

Yep I will add that into the next release. Sorry for the dalay, you hit the nail on head, I have been working excruciating hours on the commercial version and I havent done much updating to the free version. I still have a few major overhauls to make on it. I plan on releasing a totally cut down version that will only have the most commonly used modules and I am combining the dvd and audio cd modules and making several other changes. I expect completion in the next month or so, middle of next month at the latest.
