But there is one thing I really want that I didn't see it having....An external applications feature like MediaEngine. Is there any chances of this being done to this program? Because I'm going to use my carputer for everything and I'd like it to all go through one program. I want to watch DVD's and video's on my hard drive, listen to cd's and mp3s, listen to the radio, and when I'm bored and hangin out at the local spot to hang out (by my shop), i wanna sit back, and go into MMC (if it becomes possible) and go into a menu of applications I have installed like Internet Explorer, Need For Speed: U2, stuff like that. I have Media Engine running like that and thats what I like. But I love the format of MMC soo much better. I also had to have a 7 band eq, and from what I'm sein from a little button on MMC, there's gonna be audio adjustments.

If you guys at Hybrid can get back to me on this, I'll even donate cash to do it. $50, $75, $100..whatever it takes for this program to suit my needs. Please get ahold of me about this. This Carputer stuff was just announced to me yesterday and it blew my mind since I'm a huge car guru and computer guru....didn't think Mini ITX mobo's were bein used this way.
Yes I will be adding support for external apps. There will be a new module off the main menu for managing your external apps. It will be XML file based. You will be able to edit the XML file and add more programs. There will eventually be a GUI interface for configuration, but not until beta or final release.

As far as the donation goes, it helps out a lot anything you can give. The amount is totally up to you. Any amount is appreciated very much.

    Thanks

Any idea on when beta or final release will be...well released?

Also, could you display or email me your paypal ID (asuming you have one). I got alot of things sellin and I'll come up with a good ammount to send your way. This stuff is too fun.

Ohh yeah, I dont know if this is MMC related. But I shut down the program and had to restart for some odd reason, or I think I Accidentaly made my computer restart, and when windows came online, there was no windows, nothing loaded...no taskbar, no nothin. I had to open task manager and locate the file for the system restore to restore to yesterday. Which required me to download the big files all over again on my parents ****ty 56k. I can't wait to get my internet back up....So I was just wondering if this will happen on the carputer on final release?

It is hard to say when final release will be here... I know the team wants to shoot for November time frame. I hope this is the case.

This is an alpha version of the software. When the final version is released it should be very stable and reliable.

    Thanks again

I hope so...Right now I'm seing, even after I installed that DVD patch, that the DVD still skipps. MPG and AVI movie files run great. MP3s do too. Also when I go to change the station on the radio, it opens a screen saying unexpected error and tons of details asking if I want to continue or quit.

Other then that and the External Apps menu, everything is a job well done, it looks great. November, that would be cool! Thats when Need For Speed: Underground 2 comes out and I should have a P4 Carputer built by then.

Just finished testing MMC a5 r3 with DVD patch on my Car PC. The PC only has the Blaze Codec installed. I installed a brand new Gigabyte GO-W1608A DVD-Writer. Works fine in MediaPlayer 10, but doesn't work in MMC. Does exactly the same as my main PC. No video and audio, DVD drive busy.

    Same as AlienEclipse...no change...sorry

Could it be a codec problem? Or maybe a .NET bug?

I have tested it on another PC which only has the blaze codec installed and it works fine in WMP10. I'm guessing its in the programming. But from what i've seen, its getting stuck when "Buffering DVD". So i wonder its possible to test without buffering it?

Well Terminator 3 previously video was fine, no audio, now plays perfectly. Nothing else will run and most cause crashes.

Task Managers shows 99 % CPU usage and 188 MB of RAM used!

I can't play local AVIs or MOVs.

I have the same problem, although it only happens if you don't select a media file and click "Play" straight away, if you select a media file first and then click "Play" it works just fine.

In MP3 (music) mode, it works either way.

[EDIT] Oh, and I hope we'll get a setting to keep the aspect ratio while playing video files in full screen.

But at this early stage it looks really really cool [/EDIT]
