I am adding an Album button as we speak as well as CD Audio button. When you insert an audio CD it will light up the CD Audio button so you can play your Audio CD's. This will be nice for the guys with slot loaders that still listen to CD's.

Most of the buttons have two states; click and hold. If you hold down the next button for a song it should scan. The video still needs this functionality.

Ah, didnt notice that. Though a slider bar would be more handy for what i was talking about. It's hard to keep your finger on one button while in a moving car. Besides ff through 40 minutes of music will still take some time. Same idea as a movie.

Any ideas as to why the video player is spiking? Also, will you make external control of the player also available? I have my steering wheel controls which i would like to keep & use to control the music. Since as you said you're not using any app to piggyback, i cant exactly interface with anything either

I guess I could expose it via Windows Messages WM_XXX, so that you could use something lik Girder. Would this be useful? I can do this until we get the CAN Bus and ODBII components completed.

We are looking into the video issues. One thing we noticed is that we do not have that issue, but we are running at 800x600x16 bit color. We changed it to 32bit color and started getting spikes and slow down on video and visuals. This could be the issue you are facing... let us know.

Dont have my laptop handy atm, not going to bother with installing on this computer as i gotta run in 5 minutes. I will try switching to 16bit tomorrow.

Anything that i could use to control the player will be fine, still working on getting the physical unit done before the software part begins, havent looked into that too much yet Just thought i'd mention it.

While driving home I figured. The top bar in the mp3 player and video is not being used at all other than scrolling the song name. In theory you could convert the entire top bar to the 'jump' bar. Dont make it stand out too much, blend it in with the colors. That way you have a huge area to poke on without looking at the screen and solves the problem on the spot

IMHO that would be a great addition.

Here is an updated executable. It has a visual switch button now to switch through all the visuals you have in the visual folder. Try it out and let me know what you guys think...

ok the first time i ran the program i think it ran for a few seconds alright, but now everytime i open it i get an error saying "could not get interfaces specified cast is not vaild." When i press play to play my song the whole program crashes and burns.

im running windows 2000 on an intel pentium3 700mhz processor.

um my problem is that it never ran after the first time i ran it...I ran it...closed...the when i run it again it shows the logo screen and never load s the program..rather the 'report to microsoft' window opens

did you change the media folder? If it doesnt find any files in the media directory it crashes on boot. If you look closely at the error message it mentions that it must be a nonnegative value and I'm assuming > 0.

Try removing the media.xml and adding some files.
