While a lot of your ideas I fully agree with, eye candy is the most complex, imagine if all buttons are animated it would look something a little like this http://www.fg-a.com/anibuttons.htm.

To alleviate this eyesore one may choose to:
1. Only animate when active, hovered, etc (no good for touchscreens)
2. Animate once through when clicked
3. Animate while processing, etc, etc.

Well...I dont exactly mean Animated as in the button is blinking like a strobe light or twisting around...I mean like a button could show the words MP3 or something like that, and a shine goes over it. And when you click it, it does a animation. The XM Satelite Radio button would look good as just a background to a specific point when in the XM mode. I think there should be Animated images to show which mode your in. Like if your in Radio, show an animated radio tower, like a radio tower with signal goin up and down it.

I totaly agree with your 3 points.

Allright, I'm almost done building the final version of the skin that should and might be inputed into MMC Version 1. Its a little bit of change from the original, but it makes the program more pleasing to the eye. I have something being developed right now to make the program look like a DVD front page. So hopefully the Hybrid guys like it and accept it into the final version. I know I'm going to use it no mater what.

Please, please, please, please, please, please, please make version 2 with Iguidance and Radiator support. I love your software but those are the only 2 things preventing me from using it over Frodoplayer.

Version 2 is going to blow your mind man! Trust me. I'm working with them on making Version 2 pretty much an operating system for your car!

Its still under construction. Ben is working on building me a setup that I can hide the black boxes that cover the entire program, and I am working on the skin that will hide the black boxes. Here is a sneek peak of the main menu. I hope you enjoy. Its also still under construction, Buttons and main logo might be different in final release. I also might include a stamp of MMC's specs like "DVD" "Dolby Stereo""WMA""MP3" Stuff like that, but I might reserve those things for the welcome window. I hope you like the progress. It isn't much...I've been working through tons of idea's. I've changed the layout and wall paper a thousand times, and I'm happy with this one, its clean, simple and looks crystal clear...hehe crystal. It will be skinable, but to do so, you'll have to be very good at photoshop and math lol.

It looks like a big icecube.

Keep in mind that colour schemes should have enough contrast to cut through the glare. That's a big issue inside the car.
