we are here..... I will give you a low down on some of the projects we are working on.. that should give you an idea the work load on our software developers...
1) we are porting over MMC for use with MAC osX --- about 75% complete
2) tieing up loose ends for MMC ver 1, just a few more skinning issues, and GPS needs testing--- 90% complete
3) Sirius radio interface and protocol mapping for the Alpine unit 50% done... assembling the prototype interface and testing still needed. (protocol is mapped)
4) CD changer interface for Kenwood ---- 60% (protocol mapped and interface being built)
5) Ipod integration into MMC Version 2 (20% just sent the last papers signed to apple, waiting on ipod connectors)
6) Protocol documentation and SDK for Sirius tuner. (will be available on our website soon)
7) we are also working on a project were AMX automation interfaces with MMC for an application on charter busses using two media stations and a wireless 802.11g touchpanel.
thanks for the update there mike. was well needed, was getting ancy myself for more information. can we get any kind of rough time frame for the next release cause the missing functionality of being able to start any gps application has forced me, and prolly others to look for other sol'n for the mean time. veetid with his centrafuse is doing a good job of that right now., but i really just wanna get back to this cause i really like the way you guys managed the music/video interfacing system.
Hmm... something new and exciting.
I have this friend, his name's ben, and he likes to make out with fat chicks...
I just found out.
On the serious side, where do you get the info on interfacing with an audio deck cd changer thing? Manufacturer? Do they just hand that stuff out?
Fixed a bug in NaviVoice, planning on adding a few more things to it. Hopeing to do gamma change based on amount of visible light outside the car (need parts).

Hi!
I'we followed the development of MMC since before summer 2004, and I really love the look of it!its brilliant. The last release I installed was det rev 5 i think, and it installed on my laptop.
I installed my second carputer in december, and with a fresh install of windows xp sp1 and .Net 2.0 I cant get MMC rev 7 to work. The first time I run MMC, it asks me for input sound thingy... and then Music directory, Movies and Pictures... but after that It never starts up...
I get an error after about a minute or so.. (after the splashscreen disappears..)
well.. sometimes I dont even get an error, it just never starts up! ?
Do I need codecs installed? ... do I need DirectX ? ..
EDIT:
Just when I was posting this message, the error appeared on my Carputer..
Its one of those standard windows "need to close" errors:

and when I press what the error report contains I get this:
