Hey Mike, Where the hell is Ben? I haven't goten any updates or nada from him. He's been MIA for like a week now. Man I'm offline for 3 hours cause of a stupid isp, and I almost go insane in my membrane!

Yeah, I am back from school :D Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that Beta 1 will be done and posted on March 4th. It has Integrated Destinator 3, 10-Band EQ, and a load of other stuff that will make you happy :yum:
Sorry for being out of touch for so long. Last couple of months have been nuts. I am ready to pick back up on MMC and get to the next stage.

I was away for a bit taking some classes. Plus a crap load of other things have been going on, so that is why you have not heard much from me or the rest of the Hybrid crew.
Just wanted to give you a heads up that MMC Beta 1 will be posted on March 4th. It has a lot of bug fixes, optimizations, and additions. Among the additions are integrated Destinator 3, 10-Band EQ, and Full Skinning. There is a lot of stuff though. I will let you all see it when you download it and start messing with it.
On a side note, I had some questions... I have heard from a lot of you testing that MMC is the fastest and simplest frontend to use. I like constructive criticism and I would like to hear from those that use MMC and those who do not use MMC.
I know that MMC is not a final 1.0 release yet, but I would still like to know the following things. What is it about MMC that sucks? What is it about other frontends that may cause you to use them over MMC? Have you even tried MMC to see what it is about? Just like any other developer of software, I like to see people using my software. I know that no one software package is going to satisfy everyone, but if hardly anyone is using MMC anymore, I would like to know what the major contributing factors are for this. If it plain sucks or there are a ton of better options, I just want to know. I might not continue on with the development after 1.0 is released. It takes a lot of effort to develop software, especially multimedia software. So please take the time to let me know your thoughts, please.

Don't stop!!! MMC is the fastest frontend out there period. The only issues I've had was the inability to embed other apps and the lack of a GPS system. Now with Destinator included its almost complete. Another possible issue is the speed at which you guys get new versions out. It takes you a good bit longer than the rest of the people creating front ends.
I've been using Centrafuse lately because the last version of MMC had a bug with the volume. I was able to get around it by holding the volume buttons then letting go when it hit the level I wanted. When others tried to use it though they didn't know this so the volume would rise up to 100 or fall down to 0. I hope that this issue was fixed because I CANT WAIT to use MMC again.
Also you guys need to (if you haven't already) look into the thread about the Radio some guys are building. If you were to incorporate that code into your system, I'm sure you'd have a huge following. I'm sure there are many of us who havent listened to a local radio station in many months!
I myself am a computer programmer, so I fully understand what its like to develop an application. It takes testing, testing and more testing. And thats what we are here for! Keep up the good work guys!!
I think sometimes we forget that you guys are operating on such an old release, but when you guys get the beta, it is night and day to the last public post alpha 7 rev 5.... but you think mmc is fast now, you should see it on the mac!! keep up the comments...bad or good, it will help us make it better....
MMC is great. I've been using it since last summer. I was looking for a frontend that supported unicode - MMC delivered :)
Yeah, it's fast and easy to use.
The only major problem I had with MMC and still do is the "volume out of hibernation". If I don't hit Pause before I get out of the car, I won't hear anything next time computer starts. I have to close MMC and start it up again.
Two month ago I switched to FrodoPlayer. I didn't have that problem since. :D
Also, FP's embeded Routis is nice. Oh yeah, Frodo has shortcut keys assigned to each function, that's a nice feature to use with my Creative Labs remote control.
If my sound problem is fixed in Beta 1, I'm switching back to MMC right away, cuz FP doesn't have unicode support yet.

my main problem with MMC was the look/layout and no embedd apps support as well as no GPS/radio[raditor] support & not alot of updates - so there was no point in using it for me
It was fast though. I switch between frodoplayer and CF, they both have there good and bads....I think you guys should add some kind of "Browse by album art" like in frodo [this is why im still using frodo, i find it easy to browse while driving]
The new guy on the block is RoadRunner - this frontend it amazing so far, updates are out every 2-3 days, i will be using this once I finish my Flash skin ;)
Other then that I cant wait to see MMC B1, it looks good from the screenshots....hopefully it will be worth the wait
