I like that Alpine skin and those couple of Apple/iMac ones. The dark one would be cool even without the Apple in the background and replaced by your car maker's emblem.

Anyway...

Have you guys thought of ways to upload videos and music to the system? Sure you could have a share folder that you access via Wifi and copy to it from your house... but it seems... less secure and less elegant. How about a small upload app? Easily built in VB, VBScript, WMI and WSH. Install it on your home pc with the correct settings on both ends. And voila... you can easily manage your car pc files from the comfort of your desktop. Just a thought...

Oh... could you do something for integration with a CANscan interface module/software and/or ODBII? It would be cool to have it integrated into the system so that it will display the gauages from this software as both an app and as a "screensaver"/visual. I hope you are getting an idea of what I'm talking about. For the hardware/software package I'm thinking of, check here...

Arg!! This was looking so good until you said that. I run Japanese OS exclusively so I can't have MMC installing whatever the current English version of .NET is on my PC. Any solutions around this problem?

all you need to do is insert a usb drive or cd with media on it. mmc will do the rest and update the database

Yes, that would be nice. But I wounder for the mean time if it will load up using Wine. Prolly worth the shot.
