so just curious why does everyone want the front ends to resume when you load the program? I use hibernate and it starts back up exactly where it left off... what is the reason for shutting down the cpu instead of hibernating?
Anyways, it seems that video mode is a little spotty. It works, but at random it hangs. One such example I have is switching between videos. Sometimes, I can switch from Video 1 to Video 2 without a hitch (while video is still playing). Other times, when I click on the second video, there is some hard drive activity, and then MMC just stalls out and hangs and does nothing. This happened on both WMV and MPEG files in my case.
Hibernation is the only choice for me.
I've been doing a little testing on my home PC and I noticed that while playing videos the Windows screen saver still kicks in. Usually when you are running a program like Windows Media Player, the screen saver is bypassed. Could this be implemented? The screen saver is fine for playing music, but annoying when video is playing. I guess depending how you look at it, this is more of a feature request than a bug.
No, that didn't help. Seem its the first run of the application, the first thing it asks for is to select the external audio input device. Now you might remember that with alpha rev 8 i posted the same fault. I would get the just-in-time debugger coming up after the splash screen disappears. Know at that point the selection box should appear. After it happened the first time, i rebuilt my system and the fault was still there. This was never resolved, and i believe its the same issue again. I have a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS in my system. Has anyone got this card and using MMC? I have driver version: 5.12.2.444Quote:

I installed .net 2.0 beta 2 and MMC on my CarPC last night. The first run ran fine. However, after the database was built the application closed with no error. Now everytime i run it, it closes after the splash screen without a trace.
My CarPC is based on a VIA M10000, and for now i'm using the onboard sound.
did your car pc have mmc installed previously? because the media.xml file will stay even after uninstalling.... if this is the case delete the media.xml file and reset your paths in the config file and run it again in either case try this again.... I have a audigy 2 external sound card, however mine worked fine on the last version, i will try it on this one too.... ben is coming back monday night and will update beta 1 to clear up as many issues as we can
Not really a solution. That doesn't answer the need to upload music from my PC's HDD or being forced to manage your music from inside your car.Quote:

No, the install on my carpc is fresh (no previous traces of MMC or .net)Quote:

Could it have anything to do with an New Zealand-version of windows? Seems the only connection between the 2 pc's...
so i downloaded it uninstalled the previous version and .net, installed the new .net and the new version and whenever i run it my cpu runs at about 100% for 20 odd seconds and then i get a "mobilemediacenter.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"
AppName: mobilemediacenter.exe AppVer: 0.5.1000.3 AppStamp:4228ed2d
ModName: ntdll.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 ModStamp:411096b4
fDebug: 0 Offset: 0002ae22
i dunno if any of that helps or u need the rest, any ideas?
our version 2 "Transcend" platform will have that buit in, just not for version one
