maybe this is tupid to ask, but I will

Can it support multiple resolutions? I'd love to be able to run it on my desktop (1280x1024) Even if it meant just adding black around the outside... a thick black frame or something.

How about making it lockable... that is, it can't be closed w/o a on-screen entered password. This would keep people from screwing with the carputer, and allow it to run as a desktop juke-box during parties.... just hide the keyboard and it's a user-friendly... f-up proof system.

First, wanna say awesome work so far and can't wait for the file/folder browser mode since about 20% of my music doesn't have id3 tags with any useful information.

Don't wanna butt in without seeing the other features, but when you work on the implementation of the Gps system, can you make as a config option or something that the program starts the gps receiver when the app starts. so its already got a satelite lock when i need to use it.

I bought enough for our engineering staff to test them out...these are the avermedia MR800 usb radios...we shall see if they are up to par, if they work well, we will implement them into the software and offer it with the total package....they are only the size of a thumbdrive.....

This thread has been relitvely quite, must mean we are getting closer to a finished product as far as no bugs....

We have come up with a new way of handleing the database that will give you live updates ...ie.... if you add a song you will actually see the list change in real time, the only time you will need to build the database will be on the initial install, if you like this idea let us know.

I downloaded the latest version yesterday and I've only been playing around with it for a couple of minutes. I noticed that when I browse by artist or album that a few are coming up with only 1 to 3 songs instead of the entire album. I'm guessing that the db is created from the ID3 tags? I'm used to MediaCar where it is more like a directory browser and so I'm trying to get a handle on whether this is just a problem with some of my MP3 tags being incomplete or if the program just can't see some of these songs. An example of what I've experienced:
Artist: Boston
Album: Greatest Hits
Browse by Artist Shows first song 1. More than a feeling
Browse by Album various songs from "Greatest Hits" albums show up but still only this 1 song from Boston. Don't know if this is useful in any way, but I'll help if I can.

what are the two arrows directly in the middle in the bottom menu? I'm trying to figure out what they do

ket's say I reduce volume, then I click on those arrows, it continues to reduce volume, same if I put the volume higher
