Quite a few improvements, I like the use of transparency. Whats the cecu (is that the Nissan ECU?)

I dont particularly care because I have a lot of memory, but the memory used is pretty high.

To play the same video (Dido)
    MC: 18MB
    WinAmp: 28M
    MMC: 47MB

I think its the .NET runtime that's using the memory.

The database was built really quickly for me, Im using MMC on a desktop at the moment though, 2.4Ghz Shuttle SN45G2. It built the database in 2m12s, that was roughly 100 videos and ~8000 mp3's (in 405 folders). Thats pretty fast for XML.

I can see a lot of work went into the visualizations, but I have to wonder, does anyone use them? They are great for a demo, but in the car what value do they offer? They would be illegal here in CA because they are moving images, unless of course MMC is being operated by a passenger.

I'd like to see the mouse pointer dissapear when held motionless over the MMC screen area.

Shuffle didnt work? Correction, if I let a song finish, it will pick the next at random, however, if I click Next, it plays the next song in the list, not another random track. This is arguably the right behavior I suppose. However, what is a bug is that the song list doesnt keep up with the song playing. The first random jump it did, following that, the song list wouldnt show the currently playing track (Leanard Cohen right now...)

Or go: Songs --> All, A, B, C..., then the songs under there. Will make for less scrolling...

Worked for me, but you have to let MMC shuffle. Let if finish playing the song and then it will shuffle. If you hit NEXT or PREVIOUS then MMC goes to the next song in the list. Hybrid....

Thanks. I will continue to tweak and try to gain performance and memory improvements as time goes on...

Shuffle: I noticed this too. It works when you just let the songs play. If you hit next or prev, I forgot to tie the function calls into the buttons.. doh! I will do that tomorrow. The monday release will have that fix.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will work on the mouse pointer feature as well.

    I am off to bed.

Thanks everyone! Talk to you all tomorrow

Okay. It still is not true 108MBs. It load balances between two 54Mbsp radio's. It is still faster then 54 I must say... I will work on getting the database building improved even more once I finish core components.

And even then the bandwidth is shared between all connected devices.

You may not have noticed, because I edited my post, but theres also a bug where the song list doesnt 'keep up' with the playing track (on shuffle)

I've got an ATI Remote Wonder I. I like it RF capabilites (came with my video card) but would like a plug-in to allow me to use the remote control with only MMC. That would be cool.

    Hey there code-monkeys
I'm playing with the latest alpha release of MMC and noticed something weird on the database buildup. I pointed MMC to the media folder (45 folders, 492 songs) and I found that it ignored any *.ogg files plus it mistaken two mp3 files and I can see them at the videos section. I can't see the ogg files even if I browse to the folder. The mp3's that where mistaken are named Assemblage_23-_naked.mp3 and Assemblage_23-_I_Am_The_Rain.mp3.
Seems it has to do with the _ character. Other than that the program is rock solid.
Keep up the good work guys

How about a scroll bar... something to grab and drag?

Same type of thing for vulume... a slider near the up/down arrows would help and a mute?
