Great, as far as I know no other car media player will do this so it'll be great if it works! Also is there any plans for a slider bar to be created for music / video to navigate through the track like Winamp? I often listen to 90 minute DJ mixes, and like to quickly slide it to the half-way mark rather than fast forwarding for ages.

    Keep up the good work!

    Feature Questions

I wanted to find out from some of you the answers to the following questions.
We have redesiged the screens so we can have more room for useful info, etc. In the music player what info would you like to be displayed for easy viewing? Examples would be bit rate, elapsed time, etc?

Also I have a very flexible encoding option now to encode your music CD's, etc. Would OGG be okay as a default? I am basically thinking of having a config option allowing you to choose any command line based encoder (i.e. LAME, OGGENC, etc) and then the songs will automatically be encoded based on your options. I can include the OGGENC and have it set up as default being that it is free and we will not run into any issues. Is this acceptable? Is there another preferred format as default?

    Looking forward to your feedback.

    Thanks

I agree with Custommx3. I'd preffer MP3's as a standard option and OGG as a secondary option for encoding.

Regarding the info display area how about displaying the next track in queue?
Rotating info regarding bit rate, volume level or the current vehicle location grabbed from the GPS app would be nice

Looking good Ben. Kudos to all you guys at Hybrid.

    Cheers

    1. Perfer MP3s. I'm not too fond of command-line based. Point and click is my way. I refer you to MediaMonkey. I like the encoding. Drop down box to choose format (MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV) and then you can click advanced to set you bitrate. Filenames are as easy as clicking the tags that you want use or tag it yourself.

    2. Put check boxes in config menu to allow use to choose from any ID3 tags. (What works for me may not work for someone else. This way let us choose.)

Yes MP3 would be best for me. I just went through the uber-pain of turning my itunes (.m4u/.acc) into MP3s. That was cake, but then to change the tags.... shoot me. Anywho, my point is that I love MP3s because they offer exactly what I need and not much more, thus I always change my audio files into MP3s regaurdless of what they started as.

I know it seems odd, same holds true for my video with divX. If I'm going to watch it on my computer, it's a divX. The only other type of movie on my computer is an ISO, and that's temporary, until I burn it to a blank DVD. (God made DVDshrink for a reason.)
