How about an animation for changing menus... Hollywood Film sites in flash come to mind. I realize this is not an alpha thing, but probabaly a late-phase beta. But implimented correctly and it could make for some serious eye candy. Just a thought.

    2. Put check boxes in config menu to allow use to choose from any ID3 tags. (What works for me may not work for someone else. This way let us choose.)

Derek... I meant command line encoders as plug-ins. They will work thru the gui. I just meant you could use any encoder that works from the command line and plug it into MMC. Makes it easy to add encoding for all formats later...

When I post the Alpha 5 release I will post all the details on what is new in the build and needs testing. There will be a lot. Alpha 5 is the last build before we transition to a beta release. We want to be very solid before going beta. There will probably be 2 - 4 beta releases and then 2 release candidate releases.

    Thanks

I am working on a complete rewrite of our core. This will most likely be part of the final release or even a version after 1.0. Part of this is a complete vector based graphics system allowing transitions and animations. This will allow all of us using the "Mobile Media Center Studio" application to build the screens and allow animation keys somewhat like Flash but at a much easier level. It is going to be sweet. I have a lot of stuff still under the wraps that all of you are going to need diapers for when you see it

    Take care

I agree with the other guys here. Grouped functionality is the way to go. Your center screen should be as simple as possible.
    Animated transitions? Wow
You guys are full of surprises
A word of caution though....Many members of the forum use the M series m/b with embedded graphics. Vector graphics and/or Flash animations are cool but be carefull with the graphics power something like that require. S3's core (CLE266) is not that powerfull. You already give it hard time with some of the vis you implemented (or is it a slow FPU fault?...hmmm).

Keep up the good work guys!!!
