5 meters is the USB spec for max cable length.
This is perfect for the Mimo screens that require a full 500ma and only run off usb.
It means I have one wire going to my screen and that's it.
Makes it easy to remove and simplifies cable management.
It also allows me to install additional high power devices should I need to in the future.
am i the only one who sees the rebate?? so in all, its only $50, and i can live with that....
The problem is that most people think it should just be $50 straight out...

I really like this hub. The idea of putting it all together in one package was great, and from hearing how well it works from the testers seems like a great addition to the CarPC community. Unfortunately i have already made up my own usb ports with the opus 15watt and a 7 port hub. The issue here is that with 7 ports and only 3 amps of output u cant get the full 500mA from each port if you actually needed it.
I'd like to see this same hub made in a 7 or 8 port version with all the same functions. That to me would be worth the $85
It seems most DC-DC converters max out at about 3A. If you think about it though, that's 6 fully powered ports (which you probably wont fill) and then 1 left over. 3A for 7 ports is a lot. Unless you're running a soundcard and then a USB screen and a couple USB-powered fridges... you should be fine with a 7 port.
That's what I tell myself anyway, I just ordered a supply, I secretly want to hope it's enough![]()
