You know, his work is very nice, very impressive. I wonder why he didn't go crazy with his install. I think he could have done a killer install and went overboard, but still kept it looking very very OEM.
Check out Cabe's mp3car forum section Ask Cabe Sipes
Rob Wray from mp3Car interviews Cabe Sipes from Pimp My Ride and Rock the Boat about what modding cars is like on a TV set.
Cabe talks about his experience on the set of Pimp My Ride and how a fabrication team deals with car computer installs.
Cabe Sipes shows off his truck with a ton of computer and audio related modifications. Cabe has a 10 inch touch screen along with 2 7 inch head rest screens.
Being a huge fan of how this car sounds, he has multiple amplifiers running to 2 15 inch subs.

I didnt go crazy because I really do tear that truck down at least twice a week. Is what I call my "beta baby". I use it to test out products and ideas so for me to fiberglass everthing and make amp rack covers and all that makes it useless to me when a company asks me to test and review and amplifier for them. I can pull every part out of that truck and pu it back to stock in under 2 hours.
I know what you mean though, everybody expects me to have a crazy fiberglassed and painted system with lights and motorization but I have done that and I hated it. Now, when I finally find the car to build for this winter that will be a different story.![]()

Well I meant crazy as in technology. You drive a bigger SUV, so you have more room then I do. So I think you have way more potential then my setup, because you can add more. I dont expect you to trick out the interior because I think thats very very tacky. Infact (please dont bash me), but some of the stuff you guys do to cars on the show is so tacky. I think if an install is done, it should be done very tastefully, and some of the stuff they do is very distasteful. Although I have to say, you were very very tasteful with your install. Everything looks like it should be there.
I think you should stay with a SUV. There is so much room to do things.

Ok, I see what your saying. You have to remember, thats my first car pc.....ever. I put it in like 3 months ago so I'm still figuring out what you can do with these things. Trust me, my wife is sick of hearing all my ideas and what I am going to do but I also have a substantial customer base that keeps me pretty busy so I dont have alot of time to play with my truck.
Thats one of the main reasons I'm on here and went to the meet was to see what can be done and what is being done. I dont want to copy so I am trying to do things others haven't. You guys dont make it easy though, pretty much everything that can be done you jump on faster than I can think.

Well I cant say my worklog would be helpful. I have A.D.D so I change my mind so many times. Thankfully now I'm on the right path. There is one thing that is holding me back and thats my dash. I hear you on time, I have so little time also and i did alot of modding before actually thinking things through. Basically i dont pace myself and get way ahead of myself. Im sending you a PM. Since you know how to deal with weird installs.
