whoa....this is awesome...i want one....yay... $179.00 is a good price..I wanna get the first one off the assembly line....
I loved this item until I saw the price tag. I was hoping for a sub $100 (or around that) price tag. Being with a company that wouldve potentially purchased 200+ units next year Im going to have to say fail. I think people really need a good inexpensive AM/FM option and I was crossing my fingers that this was it.

I am assuming this tuner also works with non-hd stations. Is this correct or is this tuner HD only?
I'm not going to continue raining on the price parade, I understand why it is priced the way it is, but I too was dreaming of a cheaper final price. Dreams rarely meet reality. I was hoping it would perhaps exceed the quality of the older visteon and directed equipment.
USB Audio, well done, well done!!!!
I think given the benefits of having the Line-Input open, and what all comes in the box, it is a fair price.
Good job Mitch and Mp3Car!

Thanks for the feedback. I don't understand why everyone is complaining so much about the price. I know it's "just" a radio, but the HQCT product is almost as expensive and it seems like it's far less convenient, plus it doesn't tune HD. Are there some other less expensive tuner options I'm missing besides the cheapo usb antenna kind? Unless I've overlooked something it seems like this is a pretty good product for the price.
clipping?? there is absolutly no clipping on HD Radio...
sounds like you're input levels are too high. one limitation on XP (OLD OLD audio stack)
but on vista/win7 its fully adjustable (just lower level in sounds.recording.hdradio)
but no avast.. XP we can control the volume level of the tuner itself...
try in RideRuner's (rr.ini)
hdvolume=65 (default is 70)
also in Centrafuse CF3 (with the new hdradio module)
in HDRadio.xml
<VOLUME>0</VOLUME>
uses a + - system ie
<VOLUME>-5</VOLUME> would lower it amount of 5 (65 from a default of 70)
just some FYI
-Thanks

I agree. It looks great and the price seems right.
OK, my question since I'm an newbie with this...do I need a headunit for this to work or can it run 100% just using the carpc computer? I watched the video and he mentioned a headunit...
Thanks
