What's the visible area? (inside of the wires around the touch-panel)
Also, do any of the boards extend outside of the panel's two longer dimensions? I have virtually no space above, below and to the sides to have PCBs extending.

I will not rule out a Xenarc option, but its not very likely. To date I have concentrated on Lilliputs only. I dont know a lot about the Xenarc monitors and there is a ton of optical science that goes into devloping one of these monitors. Its much more complicated then smacking a bunch of parts together and calling it a day.
I dont have the data sheet here for the touch panel but I am pretty sure the active area on the touch panel is identical, to within a mm or 2, to the active area on the LCD panel which is 152.4 x 91.44. The control board of the 669 is slightly larger then the control boards of the EBY701 and 629GL. I will measure one for you tomorrow and let you know what it is.

I will take a pic for you but there is not much to look at. Lilliput recently added reflector shields to the backs of their monitors. They are essintally a piece of bent tin that are designed to fit over the back of the LCD panel to catch any light that is leaking from the LCD's at the back/bottom of the panel and force that light out of the front of the panel by reflecting it. We are able to reuse that shield so the back of the LCD panel is totally covered by it.
Also FYI the panel dims I gave you were only for the LCD panel. They did not account for the depth of the bond or touch panel. When you account for them you will end up closer to 8.5-9.5mm in depth. The the length and height remain the same after the touch panel is applied.
The thickness is fine.
I'm just curious to know what the back of the whole assembly with the main board, backlight and touch controller all attached looks like.
I would be removing the panel and boards and attaching it to my own bezel, and using my own custom made wiring harness instead of the VGA/USB cables.

The inelmatic monitors/touchscreen can be ordered either optically bonded or not. I have a 10.4" optically bonded "regular" brightness on order from their Shanghai factory.
I don't see any reason to order a DVI in car. The 10" Xenarc "DVI" just adds a separate dvi to vga box with the vga monitor.
As far as these photo comparison, it seems to be an academic argument. The monitors would need to be compared directly to make a fair judgement. You can be sure that any of the $700 monitors discussed are much better than a $200 model. I prefer the "pop" of the inelmatic compared to an AG treatment.
Edit: The Inelmatic I ordered is milspec: IP65 (can be cleaned with a garden hose), 700:1 contrast, -35 to 75C operating, shock and vibration rated, 6-32v and surge protected. Lilliput isn't even auto rated, as far as I can tell.

I dont have any internal pics of the stand alone bonded 629. Since we use the lilliput control board it looks pretty much the same as the stock one would internally
