I was planning on using hybrid sleep with Win 7. I wanted to install a 260amp alternator, and 2 batteries. What do the diodes do?

My install is similar to yours that we are trying to get a lot of stuff into our installs. i was going to install 7 computers, but I am researching the new N-Computing U170. If these units work, then I can get the setup from 7 PC units, down to 2 high powered unit and then 5 U170 units. This will drop my power use from 750 watts on the rear setup, down to 250 watts.

Im hoping someday I will finish, then I can go to AKFest and show off my ride.
Just take it to afkfest and finish it there. That's what a few people did.

AFKfest isn't just about showing off your ride :P Come on down and show us your progress, or even don't show anything at all... just come to say hi and see other peoples installs and hang out.

LOL, I use to do that when we had the Car PC meets and I always felt like cr@p afterwards. In fact it was almost border line jealousy. i vowed never to do that again.

It's a good place to get a lot of ideas. What you find out is there are lots of people in the same position as you - finished, not finished, complete disaster, whatever.

It's also a good place for inspiration. I was definitely inspired by stuff I saw and heard about.

Wow, I like it a lot!! Awesome...As you can see on my Sequoia, I don't care much for OEM looks, unless the oem design is awesome to start with, or your modding a lease, I don't care much for OEMness.

I like it. Please, start a worklog. How does the camera setup work? Model, etc.? Do you use ORB to control it from home, or proprietary software, or you or (edit: Margret! sorry) wrote your own software?

    Kudos on the install.

I guess im just picky. I dont want my truck to look like some undercover swat team vehicle. Next thing you know people are doing drive bys on me while im in it. You especially Rippling, most Police cars have a setup like yours.

    LOL

True that, but I don't care. I want the functionality first, I don't like the Sequoia dash at all, so that helps. I'm still thinking of integrating it more, just because I want to be able to leave it there at all times.

Does not mean I think it's wrong to go for the OEM look. On the FX35 and the M35 I went for that as much as I could.

It is a nice setup you have there....

Is it just me, or are the videos really lacking, dare I say substance....

The video basicaly says there is a Car PC, and a few extra batteries, and a webcam. It looks like you have an amazing system, but really can not tell much from the video.

What kind of CarPC, what OS is it running? What front end are they using? what are the specs of the PC? What all is it used for? What other hardware is it hooked to, Fusion Brain, Tire pressure sensors, GPS, any other integrated software and on and on.......

I found this to be true of the Delorian video as well.

MP3Car is a technical CarPC forum for the most part, and just stating that a car has a CarPC in it, really is not much information

Well, I finally finished the scanning camera setup. total cost was under $20 as opposed to buying a motorized platform, witch would have been over $100. Plus I now have room for 11 more servos in the controller.

My cousin suggested drop-down anti-glare screens. They would run through small channels, assisted by the servos when the sun would get too strong.

    Funny you should say that......

Being that the theme was "the connected car, I was ready to do a demo on the connectivity of my system; but it never was mentioned.

I have multiple ways to communicate with the truck puter, via phone, console or when I feel playful, my watch phone which has a serial connection via bluetooth to the truck. Right now im just doing basic stuff like vpn, but im writting apps to do more.
