lots of cool and interesting stuff in this install, if they found someone with some fabrication skills to help clean up the install it would be very impressive

Of course your power supply will eat a little juice in either case.

Download Sleeper and run it on your machine. (Very small and free piece of software). It will report what sleep modes your motherboard supports. If you do not see S3, then go into the BIOS and check for an option to enable S3. I have found with a couple motherboards here that they default to S2 in the BIOS, and you have to set it to S3.

For hibernate, that really depends on your graphics card drivers, strange as it may be, as well as enabling it in system properties.
It does have S3.... So I guess thats what I will go for.

And for what its worth, these days the yellow top is no better than the red top in terms of floor voltage. The Red/Yellow are now essentially the same in that regard (Optima went cheap). Save your money and go red, or go even cheaper and get a kinetik power cell.
I was actually looking at that. i was like the specs are exactly the same. I will check out the kinetik batteries. The setup will be a 3 battery setup. One for engine, and the rear 2 for the PC install. Turns out, me redoing my setup allows me to fit 2 of them now and still have room left over.

Thanx for your guys help.... i dont want to thread jack anymore....

    Show more functionality

I really appreciate the videos that you host from them various shows that feature vehicles with unique or outstanding MP3car systems. Why don't you ever walk a bit through the functionality of these systems? Isn't that what its all about anyway? Please in the future try to show more of how a system works instead of glossing over the review with a laundry list of items installed.

    Just a beginners thought.

    Systems upgrade

    In the past 2 months, we've kept busy upgrading a lot of the things that were not quite finished when we showed at the AFK fest;

1 - we upgraded the relay boards with an Advantech I/O robotic module.
this provide us with 8 relay ports plus 8 digital inputs as well. I am oversimplifiying the ability of this device, but it does some amazing stuff. I have it also driving a servo controller.

2- We upgraded the wiring for the secondary battery system. The lesson is, when doing the big 3 for one battery, do it for all batteries!!!!

3- upgraded the scottchy diodes to 40 AMPs we had one of them oriented the wrong way....bad feedback loop. test, test, test !!!!!!!

4- Added a 400 watt power inverter.....just to keep handy.

5- Upgraded the audio crossover and moved the stereo system to the bottom of the console; installed a Lilliput touch screen on the top 2 dins, where the stereo used to be.

6- uphostered the back seats to match the front corbeu seats.

7- Added a manual battery cutoff to manually isolate the batteries.

8- bought a pico projector to experiment with heads-up displays. Preliminary tets are prommising.

9- Finally we got around to upholstering the center console.

By no means are we done.....
