Thanks for the pictures, I'd love to see you driving the Mysterion...LOL
Not a big fan of those rubber band tires on oversized wheels. Too pimp.
That Lincoln btw is the wrong one...
Automotive styling is REALLY subjective. It's very much an expression of the creator's personal artistic vision. I'm sure generational fashions play a role too. I've been enjoying custom cars since I was a kid (MANY years ago). I was born a little late for fins, but got my driver's license at just about the peak of the muscle car era. For me, the highlight of the show (so far) has been this classic Ed Roth design (image 1, side by side small block chevy power!).
The materials and finishes available today are light years beyond anything I had available in the 70s, and I saw some more amazing technology in the paint and body sections today.
I guess it just boild down "to each his own".

I thought so, but I didn't see the other. I'll look for it tomorrow. Yeah, you got to have some guts to actually drive any of those old time hot rods. As for Mysterion, I DO have a "My Favorite Martian" silver jumpsuit that I think would be perfect!
Here's some Mustang silliness for your enjoyment.

Correction on the Ed Roth "Mysterion" description. As any true fan would know, that's a pair of Ford 406s in there, not SBC. The front-mounted distributors should have been a tipoff. Oh well, it's been a long day.

Hey Vegas, if you can, bring some more tech news for us - screen installs, tech hacks, or new products, cool accessories - for what I can tell all the cars always look about the same...
I know it's not Sema's forte, so do what you can.![]()

Hahaha, I think Sean from mp3Car is ahead of me everywhere. I'll tell you, I look in every car to see if there's anything new or unusual in there. What he and I have commented on is about all I've seen so far. Also, I agree that I should try to keep to the tech focus of the forum. But I just got a new Canon S95 and the photos and video were all shot with it. It is SWEET! With so many gorgeous cars, it's hard not to pull the trigger.
Today, though, my hunt will be for tech. See you in about 8 hours.
Cheers!

Yea honestly every screen we saw there was a kenwood, sony, or alike screen. And if they weren't they were an iPad.
We did see a My Ford Touch, but they Ford reps said they won't be able to turn it on for the show.
Got some video of VegasNate's G8 which is an iPad install, but its also got some touch screen HVAC controls which are awesome. Got lots of video rendering will be up in the next few days.
Thanks. As expected, I guess.

God, all these iPad installs. There is no difficulty in that, and a lot of them dont even look good. I watch FastLane Daily and I thought they were joking about everyone cramming iPads into their cars. Well I guess this thread proved me wrong.
