Saab's new IQon system dubbed the first application-based in-car infotainment system

Saab’s recent release of its Android-based IQon in-car infotainment system at the Geneva Motor Show has made a significant splash in the car computing community. Not only does it feature in-vehicle navigation and entertainment functions that we see in other systems, but Saab claims that it is the first truly application-based in-vehicle infotainment system. It boasts an impressive network of sensors that can track variables like vehicle speed and interior/exterior temperature, incorporating this information into a positively customizable driving experience. In addition, Saab is making all information available to third party developers, who can develop and sell applications on Saab’s app store. Welcome to the world of what Saab is calling digital and automotive harmony—the interactive focal point for you, your Saab, and your life. See the teaser video and original post on engadget.
