One end of the cable will plug into the touchscreen, and the other end in the mimics. You can buy the ribbon and connector separate and give it a shot. Or I can send you one for $11, PM me if interested.

intrested but i live in the UK? are u also able to send me a module? as i dont yet have one and i would like to try it also - is there anyway to have 2 inputs? as in can i have VGA showing my CarPC and video showing the iphone? or and other way that this might be achieved lol - furthermore - once the ribbon is connected to mimics is there nothing else that has to connect to the touchscreen? effectively what i am asking is if i set up mimics does that mean i cant use my touchscreen for anything else other that my iphone?

    cheers, dave

Ahh, you need the special switcher add-on that I have just finished if you want to have the option of using your CarPc/OEM/Headunit or your iPhone. This switcher module will be available soon.

This module was initially designed for iPhone as a replacement head unit, luckily I added a expansion port to connect the switcher module to expand its functionality. The switcher diverts the touch signals to the iPhone or CarPC etc. The video signals can be switched via the switcher in a few ways depending on your configuration.

Ok, I will PM you. I will also post it on this thread, so if you subscribe you will get a notification. Yes, for the device to be compatible with the mimics it needs to be jailbroken. Not that hard to do if you know how. Youtube is your friend.

Hey customGadz, quick question about the module. Is there anyway to have it work like a bluetooth mouse? The reason I ask is the Galaxy S2 supports bluetooth mice without rooting it (see here) and has HDMI out with audio so I was thinking if it can be treated as a mouse and with the IO ports acting as a right click (mapped to back in the os) and the center button (mapped to settings for quick press and search for long press) then it would already work with no other hacking. I was also thinking for those of us with a VGA monitor and those that need analog audio (me for example :-P) could use something like this after the MHL adapter.

    Any thoughts?
BTW. my pre-ordered Sprint Epic Touch 4G (Galaxy S2 variant) will ship tomorrow so I will order a module as soon as I receive it next week if it could be used that way.

Edit: looks like cyanogenmod supports this as well so it would also add support for any device it supports, also honeycomb 3.1 supports it so it may be worth looking into if it cant do this just yet. It may be a easy way to add any os that supports HID mouse for that matter. also it looks like maybe 2.3.5 does to.
