    This is the fine print at the end of that link:
    "*The dockXtender is currently not compatible with the Apple VGA or Digital AV adapters."

    The dockXtender only connects 18 pins (the most common) and not all 30!! We have bought countless extension cables but none work.

    It is however possible to modify a standard dock to enable all 30-pins to be used, so you can simply plug any video cable in.

    What do you mean a standard dock? You mean take one of the cheapy ones and mod it? If the wires aren't there to begin with how can you connect them? Or are you talking about a standard USB cable and modifying that?

    A standard dock has two 30 pin connectors (male and female) but because docks are only generally only used for charging/audio out, only a few of the connections are made. Modifying it to enable all connections with give you a true 30-pin pass-through dock.

    Im talking about the actual plastic dock station, modifying a standard extension cable would be a mess.
