How soon the new screens would be available ? Also what are the limitations that prevent sending the audio through the dock cable ? If you can't extract audio signals from the HDMI and and route it to after market amp via analog rca cable then why you dont use dock-to-component/composite + L,R, audio cable to send both A/V ? iPhone's headphone jack does not send pre-amp signal, on the other hand, audio through dock is.

I wonder if a pocketdock might work with the secondary dock the hdmi adapter has so u can run the 3.5mm audio/video/usb charging all through the dock connector...

I dunno if the sendstation has one pocketdock with HDMI and line-out together. Its line out + mini-usb or line out + firewire.

U can't split because hdmi carries digital signal and u need analog signal to input in your amp. You would have to take the hdmi cable out of the equation to send both audio and video through dock to a non digital amp.

Of course you can split HDMI

Why wouldn't you be able to?

Does this only work with the HDMI lilliput screens? I don't see HDMI on the mimic unit, why not the composite av cable?

you can split the entire hdmi signal, but currently, there is not a way to extract the digital audio, and create a analog signal from it.

The way HDMI works, is that the digital audio signal is "on top" of the video signal. So you can't just extract the digital audio and make it analog while leaving the video still digital. You have to take the entire signal to analog. So you can go from HDMI to VGA + L & R audio. Buy you can't go from HDMI to HDMI + L & R Audio.

You can use the dock for this, but you need your own control knob, once you go through the dock, you can no longer control the audio from the iPhone.

It can work with any 4 wire lilliput screen. But if you get one without HDMI, then you can only get display out of the iPhone using the VGA Cable. Which doesn't have charging. You *COULD* use the composite cable, but composite video is super crappy.
