15-20 seconds from power to full boot, though as I mentioned, I'm in the process of finding an always-on solution.

As for front ends, there's a couple ways you can go.

    -Apps like UltraCarHome
-Launcher replacements like Nova Launcher and custom skinned buttons
-Just use stock Rom with Widgets. Android is made to manage all your media sources

    Thanks,

Always on (nearly), USB audio, and even USB backup cam have been solved by Timur with his ROM for the Nexus 7. Just need to negotiate a way to leverage his work for compatibility with this board and perhaps other devices.

I loaded my N7 with his rom and am using the N7 with my UAC-202 DAC in my blazer and just love it.

Wow that's awesome! I wonder if his kernel is notated enough for me to extract some of the goodies and rebuild mine. I have some reading to do!

Crap, going to have to order the UART, didn't realize it was the only way to get fastboot working... *SIGH* I got overly excited and just ordered the board, now I'm noticing all the other stuff I need that I should have ordered. UART, maybe I'll get an eMMC module since I just found out my mini sd card with an adaptor aren't really compatible. FML, $25 for shipping again.

On a negative note about odroid, not overly happy with their documentation... or lack thereof. I don't like messing around aimlessly with no direction. Can't find how to access recovery, found the bit about fastboot by pure chance.

Yea I definitely recommend getting as many of the accessories from them when ordering the board itself. Might wanna buy multiple power plugs too because you'll need several to setup test and install in vehicle

Have you had any luck with the eGalax touch module yet? I'm trying to do something very similar to this blog but using an MK808B instead of an ODROID. I haven't had the time to dive into the kernel just yet and was hoping that someone else may solve this problem before me.

Yes I've got the touchscreen working. Unfortunately, you have to modify the stock kernel, as there's no way around it that I was able to come up with. It wasn't at all difficult to modify the kernel, there's simply a file called hidinput.c that I needed to amend some code to, and of cource you'll need a Linux system to compile the new kernel. I'll have another blog post with the step by step instructions up tomorrow. Your situation may vary though using the MK808B.

Thanks, that would be greatly appreciated. I'll update as well if I find any differences with the MK808B as it's also a great little device for very little money.
