this is just a cheap single cell lipo battery like you would have in radio control with a dc regulator attached in a fancy case. I jump started my car off of a small 4000 mah 3 cell lipo battery. it weighs less then a pound and is capable of 1200watts continuous power and 1600watts peak power@12vs. it costs about $25.

I finally managed to get the touchscreen to work
Thank for your guide but I found some errors.
I now have the same problem as you.
My touchscreen is not responding all around the screen, the touch area seams to be a little bit smaller than the screen. I must now find a way to calibrate that.
I'm no programmer and a newb in android and linux so must look around the web to find some help ;-)
To get the screen a little bit bigger, i played with the build.prop and set the dpi to 192.
Doing that I lost the bottom softkeys but another line in build.prop brought them back. Not all...only home, back and recent apps. I lost the volume controls :-(
I will be using my car stereo with this carpc setup so I will have volume control...
To play music I use MortPlayer found in PlayStore. It is fine because it can play music from an external HDD and I like its look.

Is there any update on the status of this? I'm working on something similar to you but with a Minix Neo X5. My lilliput was recognized out of the box but of course has the switched axis issue. Just starting to learn how to re-compile a kernel with changing the usbhid input as you did but not quite there yet. I assume that once I get the axis flipped I will still have the issue that others here do with not being able to hit the edges of the screen. Right now I can hit the top edge but not the other 3.
I believe you said you have a BU-353-S4. I also have a BU-353-S4 and the PL2303 software does not seem to recognize it. Which options did you use for it to see yours? I tried the app that is made by Prolific (Prolific PL2303 USB-UART) and it does recognize that data is coming in but the text is so small I can't see if it is valid data or not. I also used my phone as a USB bluetooth device and the PL2303 software does recognize it and I can use google maps with it so it does work via bluetooth.

I did not have to change any settings other than starting the PL-2303 app to start at boot. The coordinates do show up very small, but if you see coordinates at all it should be valid data. I see no coordinates at all if the GPS isn't plugged in. It sounds like you may have the wrong app. This is the one you want. Follow the instructions to set the apps service to be the location provider and it should just work.
Great writeup. Looking forward to seeing more progress on this install. I'm in the process of getting my Minix Neo X5 android install completed. Having the same issues with my lilliput as you did however did manage to apply a patch that at least gets it working although the top and bottom edges of the screen are still flaky like yours. Which mic did you use for the android build? I am looking to get one but not sure what to get. Also, how are you running the audio out from the Odroid? My Neo X5 has hdmi, spdif, and analog outputs. My stereo only takes the analog input (3.5mm jack) but I may look into something else as a headunit in the future.

If you happen to need to do work on development I just saw a suggestion that works pretty well...
If you have hyper-v or vmware or a similar virtual computer interface on your computer and you have a standard PC you can run Android x86 on it. I just installed android 4.3 on a virtual machine and that thing is pretty cool. They have different versions of android you can use. It is much faster than the android emulator that you can run.
Would be cool if you could change the screen dimensions with it but I didn't see an option for that for reasonable resolutions.
Any updates on this build. I have google Glass and want to build something like this, so that I can interact with it through glass and voice actions.
