    Performance CarPC

We need a thread to address how CarPCs can be used to enhance vehicle performance. It could include discussions about interfacing the car’s EEC, ODBII, or other sensors like (O2, vacuum, temps, fuel flow…). It could also discuss how these interfaces can be skinned for safer access while driving and what software can be used (in a CarPC) to interface and modify the car's computer control center.

I was originally thinking of a forum Name of "StangPC" (only because i want to see what other Mustang owners are doing) but really it should include everyone who wants to use their CarPC to add vehicle muscle.

    What does everyone else think?

I would like to see this too, i already have plans on using my carpc to help in the tuning of my civic by data logging every worthwhile drive...but i would love to see a separate forum for this and some more OBD1 love....

Nothing is stopping you from starting a thread...

Isn't this essentailly the same thing that the OBD-II forum discusses?

I was originally thinking of a forum Name of "StangPC" (only because i want to see what other Mustang owners are doing) but really it should include everyone who wants to use their CarPC to add vehicle muscle.
Then we would need a suspension forum, an automation forum, etc.

We cannot start a forum just for one car, then we would have to start a forum for each make of car out there.

Most of what you're wanting to see is already discussed in the OBD-II forum.

I must have miss-used the word "thread", I guess it should be "forum" based on your comment about the ODBII area.

As you said, the ODBII forum has a lot performance talk. But, its title is a little misleading. Hooking your EEC & w/b O2 sensor to your CarPC is a whole different animal.

Maybe the right name for the ODBII forum would be "Vehicle Interface"?
That would logically support ODBII, O2, EEC....

I understand your comment about StangPC... that was not a good idea.

I know for the RSX they have KPRO (ECU management) systems. These obviously can be managed by our carpcs. Im sure they make many of these types of systems for performace like cars.

We might consider renaming the OBD-II forum to be more inclusive.

So that's what was inside the little Honda Civic that blew my doors off last month! It Inspired me to purchase a TwEECer/RT for my Mustang. Both do basically the same thing by allowing EVERY aspect of the ECU to by monitored and/or modified by the CarPC.

I also have an OBDII reader, but it can't log data fast enough to do any worthwhile analysis of a run and the only thing it can change is the check engine light. I added the TwEECer/RT and a wide band O2 sensor... but I'm still trying to figure out how to hook it all up to be accessed from the CarPC.

Thread moved. This thread should have been posted in the suggestions forum.

I've also changed the title of the OBD-II forum.
