I think what is needed is a way to view all ads. honestly, some people like to browse. others have a hole burning in their pocket. And don't tell me "they can search." If they're not going to search for what they want on the rest of the forums, then what makes any of you think people will search in the classifieds.

Also it takes some clicking around to see if the seller's likely a scammer...clicking around to find their post count and join date, a regular thread post shows this info without clicking around.

alas, this all probably falls on deaf ears, but i just thought id give my input. its probably part business strategy so that the mp3car.com store can sell more...but who knows? all i know is that im gonna end up stuck with a lot of leftover parts and that i doubt ill be able to sell now
I never claimed to be the voice of anyone or anything except myself. I obviously have no basis for complaint and I'm the only one with anything negative to say.

I refuse to get into a pizzing contest with you (xBrady), you obviously don't care about my opinion or any other end users opinion so I'll digress and you can feel great that you've blown me off enough to the point where I don't want to retort, congrats.

Why not just limit POSTING to more senior members and not close it off all together? The problem is, in my case, you want some posts to prove I am part of the community but I have not purchased/have/used anything yet. I would however love to get some good starter gear from people as the upgrade.

i gotta admit as a "senior" member that the new system pretty much dooms itself by not really being a true part of the forum. You dont know what products are available unless you specifically go to the classified section.. its not like before when u could see what was available in your new posts list. The categorization also makes things harder for both seller and buyer. Sellers have to make multiple posts and buyers have to know which section the product you want is listed in. I dont think anyone here wants to make the section "ebay", but i didnt think it was "ebay" before the changes. It certainly was alot more popular though.

Limiting who can access the classifieds stupid

I frequented this website a few years ago when I was still in college and now I am seriously thinking of building a carputer but my post count is too low to access the classifieds. So you want me to just postwhore so I can get access that is retarded. Usually the classifieds is a section where people who are more senior sell their old or unwanted parts to newbies as the regular senior members don't have as much as a need for the parts in the classifieds. Since i have returned to this forum I have been appalled by the tone from the supermods and mp3Car staff.

I retract some of my comments as I did not realize that the post threshold was so low.

    There should be a poll.

I vote for the old classifieds.

I'm not saying that the new classifieds are better than the old ones. All I'm saying is that the new ones shouldn't be closed just because some people don't like them.

I wrote a very long winded articulate reply, but I know you'd never read all that. So here is my synopsis:

Few like the new way, many like the old way. Few use the new way, many used the old way.

The point of this thread was never to have the classified section removed, a point I think just flew right on over your head. The point was a last ditch effort to get the mods to realize what you have now is the equivalent of having the section closed.

Yeah, thats the shortened version, you should have seen the long version, a nice rant about how in your eyes a ghost town must still be a town since has buildings like a town, even if no one lives there; but I didn't want any of my post to be conceived as an attack on anyone.

    Take a Poll!

I vote to close it because it is not as active as the old system.

I am curios to see if the AMOUNT of posting has decreased from old way to new way. Also, the estimate of scam posting.

No matter what it's not going to be as active! We have limited posting to users who are active members. Prior to the move, this was not the case.
