When we're talking about banning at the drop of a hat, I don't think it's funny.
I'd like a straight up answer. It's fair enough if infractions can be given as a warning, you take it on the chin and live with it. But if a minor infraction causes a ban I'll turn into a lurker and not contribute anymore just in case I say something a mod doesn't like.

It is actually pretty hard to get banned from the infractions (unless you spam).

Even if you "are always a single point away from permanent ban."? Although I guess if you are always a single point away, then you can get as many points as you want and still be a single point away from that permanent ban.
